Cobalt-free battery design news
« on: April 09, 2022, 07:45:42 PM »

https://thepack.news/ubco-announced-global-development-partnership-with-chemix-to-create-first-ultra-safe-high-energy-cobalt-free-battery/

In related news, I heard yesterday on the radio that NASA had partnered with Toyota to design and develop another super solid-state battery that would do all of the wonderful things that solid-state batteries are expected to do - if they ever can get economically mass produced. Should more information show up in my newspaper I will post it here.

Ubco currently offers a two year battery guarantee.  I can't even currently find anything about warranty on the website in a few minutes.  The article does state they have some new models in the 2 wheel drive and trail bike segmentscoming soon.  50.4 volts and max 120 amps is where they are now.

Is the word rare earth element used correctly in this article.  Has this definition changed over time, seem to think they are in a specific place on the periodic chart.  Maybe heavy enough to have to been in the center of some rather massive star or the like to be formed.  Cobalt is #27.
