The take away I got from that article is we've reached the limit of current LiIon technology, so it's less likely we'll see a big increase in our Zero motorcycles, let alone anything else, without added weight.

Flying cars will be a lot more difficult to implement than many people realize. 

First the machine, pilot, operating environment, and maintenance procedures must be tested and approved by the FAA.  You can't just land an aircraft anywhere, so areas have to be found, tested, and approved.  There will be a limit to how many aircraft an area can handle, aircraft can't just park in line and wait there turn to land.  Throw in some fog, snow storms, or high wind and it can become impossible.

I just do not see this happening any time soon as things stand now.

I got the impression it wasn't the BATTERY technology he was referring to, but the CHARGING method.  I remember back in the day "Fast Charging BAD, Slow Charging GOOD."  A few years back that got turned on its head as we learned more about LiIon batteries.  Now, slow-charging stresses the cells more and can age the battery faster than a fast charge to 80%-90% and using it immediately.  You still want a slow charge to 100% periodically to balance the cells, but you'll note Zero no longer says to leave the bike plugged in if you're not riding it anymore.

My 2018 FXS manual says to plug it in and charge it up, and only worry about it when I'm not going to use it for weeks at a time. Then there is the whole long term storage recommendations. Got a link to their updated docs recommending this?
