Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Recall Notice For Newer Zeros
« on: February 26, 2023, 06:34:23 PM »
I was the first in the UK to have the recall work completed on my 2020 FX.
The install took about 4 hours and prior to the recall, my battery had a parasitic slow drain of about .5% each day when left unused.
The recall install has cured the battery drainage completely.

Tech Help / Type 2 charging for Zero FX advice.
« on: July 06, 2021, 07:01:30 PM »
Hi. I'm not suffering an issue with my Zero FX, but I would like to add the ability to charge the bike from the UK network of type 2 charging points.
I have the rear rack on my bike, equipped with an alloy Givi monokey mounting plate. I am quite prepared to sacrifice the space in a Givi top box to fit a charger with a type 2 input.
What I am seeking is the guidance, perhaps by someone has a similar system fitted, as to exactly what I would need to buy.
I'm happy to leave the electrical connections down to a technician. I'd just fit the charger unit and type 2 receiver into the back box.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: UK Insurers/Brokers
« on: March 24, 2021, 03:12:34 PM »
When I asked my insurer to swap my insurance from my BMW F850GS to the FX I had just purchased. Bennetts informed me that they didn't offer insurance for electric motorcycles.
A site search revealed a number of alternatives. Guess who was number 4 on the list? Bennetts!
I went with MCE as their quote of £136 included legal cover, personal injury and roadside recovery.
Yes. I'm lucky I live in rural parts and have a garage.

General Discussion / Introduction
« on: March 11, 2021, 03:22:57 AM »
I guess it would be rude not to perform some form of introduction having joined.
I'm a UK rider having just purchased a Zero FX to go alongside my BMW F850GS and Honda VFR750F.
Electric bikes are new to me, but my ownership of an electric car pushed me in this direction.
I've spent a free afternoon today fitting the FX with a rear rack, ramball satnav bracket and handguards.
