KTM Electric Forum / E-XC Battery Error 28
« on: October 27, 2021, 01:25:04 PM »
Has anyone come across "Battery Error 28" that is flashed with "battery error" diode on the charger during charging process? The error shows up close to the end of charging and leaves battery ~70% charged. I'm effectively loosing about 30% of its capacity. Some month ago the error was showing up rarely, but now it's like literally every time I charge the battery.

I think it's relevant topic to share a movie with my KTM. Hopefully this will liven up this part of forum :)

Just in case others were looking for custom sprocket: Moto Master has different options:

Hi guys,
Did any of you try to find rear sprocket that would have more teeth than the standard one (48)? I can only see 46 teeth option available from different vendors, while I'm interested in oversized one.

Just by curiosity, have you been talking to anyone from KTM service?

@Fran K being in rear shock topic: have you been adjusting compression dumping (high or low speed)? Both screws seem to be hardly accessible...

Are you afraid the oil and nitrogen will leak out of the shock?  It says tightness.
Exactly. The cavity is roughly 1mm deep now. I don't know the thickness of the aluminium but I'm worried already.
As a quick fix I've taped a piece of hard plastic to the can to protect it. Should work fine.
I wonder if this happened only to my particular bike or it's a design flaw in all E-XCs.

Hi E-XC owners,
Washing my bike the other day, I observed a weird thing. The rubber cover that prevents rear shock from being sprayed with mud touches the shock's can-like element and abrades its surface. Looking at how deep the cavity is after 50mth I'm getting worried about loosing tightness of the shock.
Did you observe something like this in your bike?

My complaints are the way my knee contacts the bike and the green charge indicator lights are way too bright for night, and feeble headlight.
I ride during the day, on a track, so didn't encounter these problems :)

I really have not paid attention to the brake discussions on Ktm talk.
It's even hard to make rear wheel slip when you want to tighten the corner. It simply does not work.

No foot brake kind of makes taking hands off the bars hard.
True. But it gives advantage of being able to use the rear brake with both legs on the ground. As everything - has its pros and cons...

To be clear - it's just the rear brake that worries me. The front one is just perfect!
I was trying to clean the pads with sand paper and some chemicals - it gave absolutely no effect. Maybe swapping original ones with EBC would help...

Hi all!
New KTM E-XC Freeride owner here! ;)
I've just bought mid 2020 model that has 8 mth on the counter. It's my first cross country bike (used to have Aprilia Tuareg, Honda CBR600F, Yamaha R1 and KTM 690SM) so I'm in a quite intense learning mode. It's completely new experience for me thus it gives so much fun!

The bike satisfies my expectations in almost every aspect, with one exception. Rear brake is rubbish. You need to use two fingers and push the lever really hard to stop the rear wheel from spinning. Do you have the same?
