The tabs on my Experia were $404 this year. My Zero SR: $325. We already have an EV surcharge in Washington. Now the Feds want to add another $150. It's no wonder so many people skip renewing their tabs. It is a secondary offense to not renew tabs. You can't get pulled over for expired tabs. They can tack on the fine if you get pulled over for a moving violation.

Good work. I wondered when someone would just make one from another bike's centerstand. I have similar plans. Unfortunately, the motorcycle wreckers (junk yard) that was minutes from my home went out of business after forty years. I hoped to take measurements on the Experia and rummage through their centerstand piles for likely candidates. Now I may have to gamble on eBay or other online retailers.

I threw $100 in on a Verge ages ago, as much as anything to see what they would really offer. I got this today. I will keep you posted on what else I get.

He rode his Zero for close to two years through mud and streams across Asia. He knows how to keep one going and plug in anywhere he can find. I think in this instance he was too enamored with DCFC, plus he was riding hundreds of kilometers a day to get out of Europe and get to Africa. Then he will get back to plugging into AC for the next few years.

He also rode a Verge through Europe to their HQ. Interestingly - the wheel motor failed after the first few days and had to be replaced on the road.

A local multi-line dealer near me in Seattle just picked up a Zero franchise. The previous Seattle Zero dealer, who were alway good by me, dropped them last Summer.

The AMA was sued by a group (NASB?) who had been contracted to run some of professional road racing classes. The AMA got into a legal tussle and lost the lawsuit, costing the AMA membership several million dollars. The AMA got out of professional road racing and sold the rights to DMG - who drove the series into the ground. KRAVE, Rainey's group, got the road racing rights and started running the races as MotoAmerica in 2015 after the AMA bought them back from DMG.

So yes, the AMA screwed up and cost the membership a lot of money.

I was at a motorcycle ADV rally in Montana last August. I'm not an ADV rider, but I knew it would be a beautiful ride on my BMW F800GT from Seattle to Montana. Anyway, the ADV folks talked alot about which winches and hoists they carried to lift their giant BMWs when they slid out in gravel. It had never occurred to me that a winch or hoist was part of their required riding gear. A fully loaded BMW or KTM 1100+ bike would probably be a real handful to lift. I guess our E-bikes would be also.
