I'm back to full charging power after Chris Paz changed out my charger today!  Fortunately, I live close to the Energica USA office in San Francisco and could just ride over. I haven't been there before, but they seem to be running like normal despite what I'd heard from my local dealer. Unfortunately but also unsurprisingly, I couldn't get any insider info on what the future might hold.
  I started taking the old charger apart, but will have to wait until I I can borrow some tools from work because it uses a weird mix of fasteners. I doubt I'll learn much unless I see something obvious.
  I'm relieved and grateful to have that resolved. Coincidentally, the odometer just rolled over 40k miles this week. Hope I can keep it up without drama.

I have the same charging issues that you mention. I'm good up to 10A but anything higher triggers the cycle of clicking and 0 effective charging. 2024 Ribelle RS with the PLD3300-EVCS02-420 Charger POWERLAND P/N: 9CB033000100. So far I have just lived with it at 10A but sure makes the charging slower at work and home. Thankfully everything else on the bike is perfect so I've been hesitant to reach out and take action to have it addressed... wish somehow it was a charger specific firmware update I could somehow manage, or swap the part myself some day... thanks for posting the follow up on this knowing it was the charger and a replacement solved it!

There have been threads on that problem here, but not for the 2023.


Try holding it down for two seconds, not much shorter or longer. If that doesn't work, then try shorter as well as longer, but NOT multiple times. Wait after each time until you find exactly what it wants.


The Experia PDF says (I don't have a Ribelle PDF):


"Using the E-Keyless system Switching the E-Keyless system “ON” and “OFF”. Switching the system “ON” activates the E-Keyless system and all electronic devices on the vehicle. To switch “ON”, press the E-Keyless button (1) on the ignition switch block. To switch the E-Keyless system “OFF”, turning the motorcycle and all electronic devices off, press and hold the E-Keyless button (1) on the ignition switch block for about 2 seconds"


It also says:


"IMPORTANT! The functionality of the E-Keyless system may be degraded in the following situations: • In the vicinity of structures and facilities producing powerful radio frequency emissions (telecommunications antennas, electric power stations and substations, airports etc.); • When carrying wireless communication devices or other devices producing radio frequency emissions; • In the vicinity of electrical devices (wireless keys, computers etc.) which may interfere with the radio communication of the E-Keyless system."

I dont think it should matter for the battery health.

However i got rid of a lot of recurring messages (key not found etc) when i did. It does seem strange that it should help at all, and i have no idea if 0% is needed (could be 10 or 20% for that matter to me), but im 100% sure something was reset by doing that. Wish I would have waited for a regular key frame as I initially ordered (I was told the keyless option would be faster to produce at the factory). I stand there with the fob on top of the sensor with a fresh battery, so its not user error as far as I know...

Would be nice if we could update firmware somehow myself without a dealer, I'm waiting for a dealer to show up in AZ, USA. I hear the new firmware does help with the key fob thing.

I also get the "unknown fault" error about 6 times in a row (after trying a couple times to get the key fob to recognize) before I can ride the bike.

My range is about 85 miles 100% to 0% based on my last test, which matches the average consumption and expected battery capacity. The top speed is severely limited on the last 20% or so, hard to keep up with freeway traffic sometimes, LOL. The last 10% I just ran full throttle on the freeway the whole way home and it was a strange experience for sure. Speed pulsated and fluctuated between 75-95 mph (indicated) randomly it seemed and was really slow to accelerate.

I just ran my ribelle rs to 0% and charging to 100% took exactly 14 hours 53 minutes and 35 seconds. This was on my home charger L2 in my garage with green battery and ~60 degree F temp. Not a complaint, as I don't usually get down to 0%, but found the test interesting for sure.

I'm on firmware EA.A.002835.041, BDY 7.0.2, DSB 234.

My lovely EsseEsse9 is sick.  Unprovoked it throws an “Undefined Fault” message and won’t ‘Go’.  The Status Screen shows no problems.  There aren’t any faults in the maintenance screen.  I took it to the local Energica dealer and they installed a lot of software updates.  But after I got the bike back home - womp womp - same error.

I have reached out to Energica in San Francisco.  I’ll let you know what Chris Paz reports.

Unfortunately seems to be a pretty common occurrence on the newer energica models based on Facebook group posts and on here. I've had the same on my 23 ribelle. I emailed energica and Chris and waiting for a reply... Some think it may be due to charging to higher SOC but not allowing the balance to complete. No real absolute answer yet that I've seen.

Keep us posted with your findings!

I've got a Dragy but last check they only had Zero and not Energica on the choice of bikes... I also haven't had a chance to go out and do any runs.

ColdSoda.. You should call some folks.. I ordered mine March 30th ish and received on July 1.

I asked if I could make the road trip to pick up the new bike in person...and they agreed! I drove from Phoenix to their location in South San Francisco late last week and picked it up last Friday morning. Awesome experience seeing the shop there and bringing the bike home! The whole team there was super welcoming and Chris answered a hundred questions haha.

Only rode to work once since getting back home but so far I'm very impressed with the refinement on the new 23 EvaRS compared to my previous 20 Eva107.

I submitted my Eva ribelle order on march 15. Not in a huge hurry since it's not great riding weather here in Phoenix Arizona but I am hoping to get an update soon! Not sure if I'm impacted with the CA shipment stuff or not... But thankfully still have my Eva 107 to hold me over till the new one is here. Appreciate all the info posted so far on this thread.
