So, I replaced the OBC and everything is working fine again. Finally got a 100% charge again.
Now hopefully this OBC will last me a long time.

Don't waste your time. Your fuses are fine.


Your problem is the OBC cannot supply the full voltage under the load of the battery. So that means your SOC will be low at the end when you charge by only the OBC. It is also probably slower than it should be even if only charged to 50% SOC.


An external  DeltaQ charger will still charge your bike to full 100% SOC. Cheaper and more reliable than the stock OBC. But the DeltaQ charger, when used alone,  is a little slower than the OBC.  It is external to the bike but MUCH more reliable. You should be able to charge faster if you use the DeltaQ and OBC at the same time, at least until your OBC craps totally out.

According to the owner's manual on page 6.30, the DSR has a 100A charge fuse under the seat, just behind the trailing edge of the "tank", on the right side as you are sitting on the bike.   While I'm not saying this is definitely the problem, it would be worth looking at it.   


Can I just take it out and plug it back in, cause 100 A is quite a lot

Hello,

I've got a question about the charging behavior of my 2016 DSR.
It won't charge to 100%. Sometimes it stops at 86 % with all the lights in the dash flashing.
Sometimes it just stops somewhere in the 90 -96 % range.
I charge it at home on a regular wall socket.
It doesn't have anything to do with the weather, it does so with cold, hot, dry, wet weather.
When I unplug the bike and then after an hour or so plug the bike back in it will charge a few procents more and then stops again.
The green charging light is constantly burning then.
When I look in the app, the battery seems ok. It's been to the dealer a while ago and they said too that the battery is ok.
My question is, is there a fix for this, can it do any harm to the battery.

First time was around 10, checked it twice now and still okay.
Isn't there a way to check the module? I'm wondering about the noise, it doesn't stop till the abs light goes on.
Also the rear brake is braking like the ABS is doing it's job. Till the light goes on, then it brakes okay.
I'll keep on checking the rear sensor. See if there's a change.

OK, just did a double check and it turns out both sensors are ok.
The rear one is 48.7 k and the front 52.6 k
So I'm at a loss here, anyone got some more suggestions.

Thanks, the resistance is way off the 50K ohm. OK first thing I'm going to order is a new sensor.
I'll let you if this is the solution.

Thanks for all the info. Just what I thought.
There's one thing I forgot to mention, the ABS module makes a funny noise when the light is off for the first few hunderd meters.
I'lll try to attach a soundfile. I've never heard that kind of sound coming from my bike.
Also I measured the resistance of the sensors, the rear one doesn't give the desired value.
I told them at the garage but they keep on tellling me the computer reads no faults, so there's no malfunction in the sensors.
So I'm wondering could the reading be wrong. Maybe I just put in a new one to be sure.

Hello,

Hello, my name is Mark Bouma from the Netherlands.
I'm driving a zero DSR 2016 for almost three years now and use it almost every day to and from work a 100 km a day. And I love it.
In rain, hard winds, sunshine, it always works perfectly and never any troubles.
Now I'm having this problem with my ABS.
When the garage connects the motor to the computer there are no faults. So I guess the sensors are OK.
After a very long time they came up with the idea that it might be the wrong tyres.
But I've been looking everywhere and have not found any comments about people having the same problem and I do read about bikes using a different set of tyres as directed by zero.
I would like to know wether it is possible for the abs to malfunction with a slightly different set of tyres.
The ABS light goes off when I start to drive, when I use the rear brake its feels like it's using the ABS.
Then after about 500 m the ABS light goes on.

The kind of tyres I'm using are in the front: Avon Roadrider AM26 100/90-19 57V
And in the back: Avon Roadrider AM26 130/80-17 65V
The reason I'm using these tyres is that I'm only using the bike on the highway on my way to work so I don't want to put the enduro tyres on the bike. I think the comfort is a lot less with these tyres or am I wrong.
So the questions are:
Can the malfunction of the ABS be caused the wrong tyres?
What tyres could I use other than the enduro one's?
If it's not the tyres what could else could it be.

Hope someone had the same problem and can help me out with this.
