Energica / Re: Is The Energica Your Favorite Bike?
« on: August 15, 2024, 06:56:34 AM »
Until porksword spitting his tabaccer wad out, opens the car door to do and pow, hello Morgan and Morgan.

How does lane splitting work when there are 40 bikes all up front, spaced between all the cars, waiting for the light to change?  Guarantee you even in your 'commiefornia' there is going to be more than one car driver saying F that and moving all the way over in 'his' lane to be a dick about it.  It's in their nature.

First of all, my Experia is my favorite motorcycle.

Regarding Lane Splitting, there are a lot of motorcycles in California but 40 bikes at one light would be kind of incredible to see. Fortunately for us the CHP has always used lane splitting as a tool to move through traffic. It's rare that I see a motor cop on a freeway that is not splitting. I think that has conditioned a level of courtesy/respect/fear among car drivers to motorcycles approaching in their mirrors. Plus Intentionally blocking or impeding a motorcyclist in a way that could cause harm to the rider is illegal here. While I don't have a daily commute, when I need to split, I always encounter cars that move out of my path. I have yet to encounter an act of intentionally blocking motorcycles.

I don't believe the Magic Docks were intended as a solution for Tesla, so I don't expect to see any massive rollout. I think they were a way to test the technology and collect data on which vehicles use them and potential demand. NACS adoption is the solution.

Thanks for all the reconnaissance on the chargers Don! It sounds like very good news.

What was the number of the FW version that did NOT work with Energicas?

-Don-  Auburn, CA

The ChargePoint CPE250 chargers in Santa Maria that would not charge for me were running
FW 7.5.0.18

Plugshare shows them as unavailable at the moment. I'll check them as soon as possible.

Wanted to give you guys a bit of an update.

CP confirmed they are in the process of rolling out a new software version (7.5.0.22) that includes a fix to the compatibility issues with Energica.
All stations within a 25 mile radius of their Campbell California HQ should now be running the new software. They are working to roll the update out to all their stations in the next month.

YAY!

That is encouraging news.

Yes. I got the same message.

I know I am "preaching to the choir" here, but I am leaving for Michigan, DC and Florida soon and it would be a lot easier to find a route with access to ChargePoint fast chargers.

I had some delays on an earlier trip to Phoenix when I first encountered this issue.

Has anyone seen or heard of any progress from Chargepoint on this?

Did others get a charge cable with their Experias?

-Don-  Turlock, CA

When I picked my Experia up the Dealer said the charger would be sent to me by the next Friday. That was February. It has not arrived. Hard to feel bad when others are still waiting for the bike.

Just spent about 20 minutes and 3 different chargers with evgo in Parker Co with no luck. Might try chargepoint on my way home.

I'm sorry to hear that. Traveling on the Experia from Santa Maria, CA to Phoenix, AZ and back, I used EVgo chargers at six locations and always got a fast 25kw from them. Only once (Victorville, CA) did I have to call the support number to get a remote start. I hope they didn't "fix" something.

BTW, did you see my message number 34 here?

-Don-  Gila Bend, AZ

I did see that one. That is what encouraged me to keep trying other stations and to try at 76%.

One additional note from last evening, I saw an error light on my dash appear very quickly after I plugged the Charge Point into my Experia. The warning shuts off when I disconnect the charger. When I got home and plugged in an OBD2 reader, it showed the error code C1012. My Experia Manual shows that as a "SLAC PROCESS ERROR". Any Idas what that might indicate?

I was at 76% and tried to use the Chargepoint DCFCs in Santa Maria, CA today (CPE250 software 7.5.0.18).

Failed as expected, so I called tech support and they did the reboot, remote start, switch to the other charger, reboot, remote start again. No luck. They claimed this will be reported to Chargepoint, the station owner, and Energica. I hope so.

I was only 2 miles from home but wanted to test it and make sure Chargepoint logs the problem. Anytime I have a charger problem I have decided to call the support line to be sure they know about the issue and I log the failure on Plugshare.

Had no luck with the DCFC ChargePoint in Twentynine palms, California last night and the ChargePoint at Chiriaco Summit. I’m hooked to the L2. 88 miles
And a climb from the Colorado river before I get to an Electrify America stop.  A little longer day than planned.
