Excuse the thread dredge but... still relevant IMO

This is a good report of a good bike for those purposes. I especially can 'relate' to the charging comments the rider made. When I charge overnight at home, of course Level 1, no issues at all. On the road using commercial charges - some error message or other is the rule not the exception. Once I (quickly) got used to that, not really a problem.

My dealer is 305 km from where I live and I can get there with 1 highspeed charge en route, or one overnight charge at our near-the-river 'shed' (kinda like a cabin, but more spartan :-) ).

Having ridden both and opted for a LiveWire because it came with dealer support and - still to me after a year's ownership - terrific performance on a flawlessly finished product - I can confirm that when I was in the EU for work and got stuck there due to border closures, I rented a LW from an EU dealership and besides just commuting, took it out on the autobahn, where it kept up close to 180km/hr for 20 minutes (with very short periods of braking back to 130-140 to overtake) and it ran absolutely fine flat-out. Mind you, had to find a Level 3 charging station quite soon thereafter :-)

I have two of these Brake Free lights - I think they are excellent.

I tested the first one with my beloved following in her car and videoing the back of my head  ;) It lights on braking and not when turning my head or shifting my head position.

A good way to see how it 'triggers' is leaving it on when you're shopping and carrying your helmet by the strap :-)

And since I'm now in the EU for work for 6 months, would be great if you find a local seller - I'll queue to buy another one while I am here.

(I already emailed the manufacturer to ask if they sell through an EU agent but since they are backordered to late August because of WuPox supply chain issues, I doubt they need to).   

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation withe the manufacturer other than buying two of their units in quick succession.

FWIW and solely from my perspective - I bought my LW for fun. Just like I bought V8 bikes for fun. If I worried about savings I'd never have bought a V8 anything especially a V8 bike: 15-18mpg touring and 8-10mpg around town bwahaha. But you haven't had a really good time shopping if you haven't gone for groceries on a 502ci motorcycle with a 150hp shot of NOS in case you absolutely, positively have to get home before the Haagen-Dasz melts :-)

I hope that for the sake of those contemplating a Zero purchase, that Zero have changed their attitude to people seeking after-sales support in countries where there is not even one Zero dealer. That is a really big deal - lacking everything from service under warranty to parts availability to online diagnostics to simple 'talk-support' is why I will never buy a Zero unless and until they change their practice.

A lot of people badmouth Harley but over many years I've not been let down by the H-D dealerships in the UK, US, SA, NZ, Australia, and Canada when I went long distance touring and needed tires, parts and service. (A similar degree of support was always available in the US for my Boss Hoss bikes although they have nearly two orders of magnitude fewer dealers compared to H-D).

Thank you. So, joking aside, if I see such trouble brewing at the side of the road then (a) get a distance away and/or (b) hope there's a river / creek / pond / pool* nearby.

(*I'm guessing a solution like dumping it in a chlorinated pool would be even worse in terms of hazchem risks.)

"Investigators are looking into a deadly Tesla car crash in Texas, which killed the two men inside. Fire crews needed 30,000 gallons of water to extinguish flames from the vehicle."

I understand the batteries are highly combustible and a compressed source of stacked emergency. But they ain't Willie Peter, how can they keep burning underwater?

More importantly - aren't these fires Class B, where water is not the remedy because of nasty chemical mixes up to and including hydrofluoric acid.  I added a dry powder extinguisher in my shed after buying the e-bike. Do firefighters not have a granular - excuse  the bad pun - Plan B, besides copious water (I reckon many do)...
