At least two of us on EMF have orders there, OG.
There are about 1000 people on the Damon Lab. Some have orders some don't.

If it doesn't appeal to you get something else, or nothing else it doesn't matter, but this does not add anything to the discussion.

At least two  ;)

:)  You are a far wiser man than I.   If I would have taken your advise I would have saved myself a lot of headaches.
But I'm in for a penny in for a pound at this point I guess.

Mental health, you know, it's important to save as many headaches as possible, hahaha  ;D

The time goal for 2021 is to ship out the 26 Founder's Edition bikes.  Those all had reserve deposits down in the 4 days Damon was at CES.
They are the $40k top of the line bikes.

It's 2022 now for their 25 Founder's Edition

Damon has a smaller-capacity battery than the Energica+, but they're able to go twice as far on a charge, and it somehow weighs 70kg less (with all the extra fancy transformer ergonomics).

Call me skeptical but that's quite a stretch.

Here’s a really interesting interview with Guru engineer Sandy Munro, talking about batteries and range:

Hope you all enjoy it!

Cheers  :)

Good luck getting tens of thousands of customers in today's market. I am still not hearing about any big interest regarding electric motorcycles by people who own ICE motorcycles at this time. I doubt there are any vehicle enthusiasts more conservative than motorcycle owners.  ::) Even when the supply of new bikes is choked off by the world's governments, expect to see a lot of people hanging on to the ICE vehicles as long as possible. Maybe 30 years from now the electric motorcycle market will reach the point where tens of thousands of units will be sold in a year. If the market had a bright future in the near term, the big 4 Japanese manufacturers would be promoting their own production EVs. So far they are really laying low.

I have a big interest in electric motorcycles, especially the ones from Damon, and I own ICE motorcycle  ;D ;D

The "fuel" has to be battery and charging related. To pull in 10s of thousands of orders Damon has to build the most amazing sport bike that can smoke anything currently on the market and that just happens to be powered by electricity instead of gasoline. They have to have what it takes to change the mind of someone looking at a Ducati (for example) and get them to buy a Damon because it will out perform a Ducati.  What you look at electric motorcycles and what everyone complains about and why they won't buy one it is about range and charging time, both can be solved by battery and charging technology. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

Hi,

They have already changed my mind with their Premier bikes. In fact, I own a Panigale and I'm eager to see Damon's premier bikes in action  ;D

Cheers!

Car companies have started to use the term and for them I've heard it mean different things.
Some companies were going to offer a car subscription and you could exchange like a hatchback for an SUV if you needed one for the weekend.

For Damon at this time I'd say it's just like a regular type lease.
If other details emerge I pass them along.

As far as I’ve understood from Damon’s CEO last interview, they call it a subscription mode  because it includes not only the vehicle itself but some other services around it, say like the connectivity and that sort of things. But maybe I got it wrong  ???

Damon / Re: The Hypersport is the Flagship but what else is coming?

Morgan, and others, I feel your heart's in the right place by trying to help people not get burned by false claims.

But we have to expect new companies to come out and some will be better than the ones that are already out.

I've been a member of this Forum for over five years now and every model year change there is a wish list thread for what features and improvements people want from the new model year's offerings.

This company is putting together so many of the aspects of what people said they wanted in an electric bike and it seems like now they can't believe it can finally happen.

1.  More performance.   That's an off the chart CHECK.
2   Top of the line range.   That's a check until "proven" otherwise.
3.  CCS charging.  Another check.
4.  Standard 6kW AC charging.  Check.
5.  Liquid cooling for all systems.  Check again.
6.  Aerodynamic.  Not only is that a check but it has a motorcycling first for a sport bike that changes the riding position for speed or upright for city or back road riding.
7.  Hell even LED lighting.  Check.

Plus features people didn't even think about.
1.  The Copilot safety warning system.
2.  Rear facing 1080p camera with dash display, along with other cameras for a nearly full view of your surroundings.
3.  A 4G internet connection for updates and likely (not sure yet) GPS and charging status sent to your phone.

Best of all they aren't just saying trust us, they are saying sign up to take a test ride and see for yourself.  No charge no obligation.

Now yes they do ask for a $100 (refundable) deposit to make a reservation, to buy a bike, but that is more than fair and is pretty much industry standard to weed out some bots or other shenanigans .
With 4 variations of the Hypersport now offered people have choices and can change which bike they want to apply their deposit to up until it's ready to be made.  Then you get the bike you said you wanted.

I'm very happy to have a group bring so many of the features people said they wanted together in a new platform.
There are risks involved with any new startup but this is an impressive team resume and the product shows they have been doing their research into what people want in an electric bike.

Hi, New2Elec, came to talk to you and the others about the HyperDrive revelation, but I'm clearly already late to the party  ;D ;D

Nevertheless, I'm gonna leave here a link to the HyperDrive features Damon have posted on their blog:

Hope you find it interesting.

Cool. I’m eager to test their shift technology, as well as their copilot assistant.

By the way, they have posted some polls on social media to ask customers and fans for a cool name for their copilot system, based on people thoughts and likes.

I reckoned it was worthy of mentioning.

Cheers!  :)

WHAT!!?
You got a Founders edition?
Sweet    8)

Were you at CES?

Is it the Grey Black bike with the Yellow striping, or the White one with the Red stripe?  (only two with an "N" for the first name)

As for the total specs and the company I feel good enough to support them for at the very least giving it a 100% best effort.
To me it will come down to being able to bring in enough money in a crazy covid world.

At CES? No, I wish I were, but it was not in the cards for me  ::). I just booked mine online, and just in time, because they were all reserved in just four days  :o

And no, it’s neither the Grey nor the White one. “Nacho” is used as kind of a nickname in my country. I will leave it just like that at this moment in time  ;)

As for raising enough money, thankfully, they seem to be doing just fine. I hope they keep going at the same rate in the future and deliver on their promises.  :)

Nacho I'm guessing your early access was due to you putting down a deposit?

Well I have been thinking and since life is short and I'm not getting any younger, I've put down a deposit myself.
Putting my money where my mouth is so to speak (or type).
I can't tell anyone else that they should do the same at this point but if/when I take a test ride I will be all in or let everyone know if I get out.

At this point I want to ask the admins to setup a Damon section for new threads and updates.
Thank you.

Exactly right. A Founder’s Edition, to be precise  ;D

Not sure what will happen in a year’s time. Maybe Damon is finally not able to deliver. Maybe they go bankrupt. Maybe the specs they are publishing about their hypersports are far too optimistic. And maybe I can’t afford to buy it, once the bike is released.  :'(

Or maybe, just maybe, the final Hypersport specs are even better than everything Damon has announced so far.

At this point in time, I’ve decided to remain optimistic, and have also put my money where my mouth is. In fact, I put my money many months ago  ;D ;D

Cheers!

Well the test ride application option is up and running.

Go to Damon.com
Setup an account.  (Free)
Fill out a few opinion questions to help them make the best bikes for the future.
When they are in your area you'll get an Email invite.

I'm signed up.   ;)
If more people in the GA or the Southeast sign up too we'll get a visit sooner rather than later.
(Don't tell the CA guys that)

Yes! They're now officially announcing their test rides in social media as well.

I already signed up a few weeks back, due to the fact that I was granted early access  ;D

I, same as you, also hope more people sign up and they decide to come to Europe for some of those test rides.

 :)

Thanks!  I wish them the best and will pay attention.  Behind the scenes there's lots that goes into a product besides good looks and great specs - time will dictate reputation - consumer markets are brutal ones to conquer.

Hi PWM,

In fact, you've been able to make reservations from Europe for any of their bikes since they opened reservations during CES Las Vegas 2020 in January.

Cheers  :)

But wait there's more!

I stand corrected as now they say adding a passenger seat is an option.
Quote from Damon on their FB page:

Do you like taking a passenger on your motorcycle? 🏍??
?
If yes, we recommend our Hypersport HS! This model will have the option to add on a passenger, so you can ride into the wind with your main squeeze. 💏 ?
?
Or anyone lucky enough to enjoy the ride with you!

End Quote.

By the time it hits the market it may cook you dinner too!

Only their HS model not the Premier or Founders models. You can find this on the FAQ section of their webpage as well.
