Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Metal body panels
« on: November 14, 2020, 05:40:35 AM »
I am working on doing a custom build of a Zero FX.
I am using metal for the “tank cover” panels.

Is that bad idea from an electric perspective? I am afraid of the risk of getting shocked or creating shorts. There are quite a few cable there, and also the metal touches the frame directly.

My Zero Fx this morning decided not to go.
I used it two days ago with no issues.

I got a check engine light, and it is displaying a series of error codes.
It has been wet here, and the bike was covered, but I think humidity might have gotten in it.
Does not turn on, but also if plugged to the wall for charging nothing happens. It shows no sign of charging and display goes off after a little bit.

Error codes.
25, 27, 29, 21, 45, 47, 48, 49
I contacted the dealer, but they are 6 hours away. So I was wondering if there is anything you suggest to do to solve the issue.

UPDATE:
After I spoke with the dealer on the phone, we narrowed down the issue to the throttle control. Once disconnected all the error codes go away and bike charges again. Next question is howe to fix it, apart from replacing it.

Thanks,
alberto

Does anyone know what the equivalent custom settings are for factory ECO and Sport mode?  Specifically in regards to an FX/FXS.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Turn signal issue
« on: February 06, 2020, 07:38:12 AM »
Just got a 2018 FX (used). The turning signal are not working. So I figure out probably the relay (fuse is good). I tested the relay and it seemed to work. Nevertheless I decided to “invest” in a new one. Could not find an exact match at the local store, so I got an electronic one. Now the right signals (front and back) work fine. The left one doesn’t work, but the headlights blink slowly. The previous owner replaced the headlight bulbs with LED. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any advice?
