It is due to your faulty battery indeed

2
All new replacement batteries are the 17.3 packs. Zero labels them with 14.4 labels but you get the 15.6. It has something to do with conformity my dealer said. I do not understand that but hey... Rather difficult to explain when you sell the bik imo...
The software update to 17.3 is technically possible but Zero does not allow it, there are reports of dealers unlocking the feature though.

This is an indication of the battery problem that plagues some (but it starts to look like a lot) 2019-2020 and the early 2021 14.4 batteries. It has nothing to do with firmware. The more you ride the sooner it will reveal itself. It will only worsen.

I think I would... Belt's snap without warning. Even perfect looking ones. Keep your old one as an emergency spare?

5
A bit of belt groan is ok. The fact that you cannot get your belt positiioned right is strange as your described steps of operations is correct...

If the new belt is still a bit greasy from the factory it can enhance groan.

(edit - with "my packs" I mean the 2020 14.4kwh. I had 3.)

Low cell voltage was sometimes even negative during charges for me :). It is an indication for the issue.

From what I can deduce from what Zero told, and what my dealer told me and some other reports is that there is a problem with how the cells are connected inside the pack, leading to high transition resistances (don't know how to translate that correctly) between cell connections when the pack is under load or when charged.

I do not know what is correct about this, if anything, but I can see how it can totally ruin any pack capacity algorithms..

The gen3 14.4 packs are a little different on the inside then the gen2 14.4 packs also.

The new battery is 15.6kWh and according to how you ride is that range is possible.
I'm now at around 3000km with the new battery and it behaves ok. Charge profiles are a lot worse than the old pack though.
But then again the charge times where all over the place then. Now it is roughly what it should be.

Yes, at the moment the range an SoC are ok. Only slight recalculations 1 to 3 % up or down when keyed off. I’ll see in 2000 km what the result will be…

My bike doesn’t have the extended range. A new Zero owner I know asked me if that was normal.

It seemed odd. But yeah I had many odd charging sessions on my bike. I was thinking that maybe temperature was a factor?

Yes that’s true. But I’m talking 4-5 hours for 10% :)

Hi,

Anyone with a 2022/2023 SR/F or SR/S and extended range option?

Is it normal for the last 10% (when charging to 110%) to take ages? Like several hours? (Charging on a 3 phase EVSE that can supply the 2 onboard chargers with more than enough power for them to go full speed).

Sincerely

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Front and rear pulley DSR/X to SR/S
« on: February 17, 2023, 04:57:38 PM »
Hi,

Does anyone have more info if the front and rear pulleys from a DSR/X would be a straight swap on a SR/S?

Does the wider belt of A DSR/X have the same number of teeth as the SR/F and SR/S belts?

Sincerely
