If I were you i'd try and lemon law that SR/S before your battery warranty runs out.  It seems obvious they have tried multiple times to fix a problem and cannot fix it.

Yep, if it didn't substantially cripple the motor based on SOC this magic charging problem would turn into a minor inconvenience.  Most people who get this problem have already ridden thousands of miles/kilometers and already understand more or less how far they can go on a single charge. When the bike reaches 0% it can only go 35 miles per hour.. makes the bike extremely dangerous (especially on the freeway).  Harley doesn't substantially cripple their motors on the Livewire, so why can't Zero?

This magic charging problem wouldn't be so bad if zero didn't limit the bike's power so much after the battery is showing 0%.  If the livewire can have sufficient power even to 0%, why can't zero do it?

You'd think Zero would have some kind of financial incentive to fix the root cause of the issue, due to how many batteries they are replacing for free.

Currently my bike is at the dealer awaiting a new battery.  I am guessing that will be the same fate for you as well.

Has OEM heated grips
Mileage: ~8500
Tires are in OK condition, could maybe last another 2k miles (both front and rear).
Recently had the brake fluid changed
I have dropped it one time, does have a little gash on the passenger grab bars
Comes with a brand new battery from Zero.

Buying this bike will end up costing less than buying a brand new MT-09 in 2.2 years with 0.21 cent per kilowatt energy costs, or 1.8 years with free electricity. This assumes current CA premium gas prices as of 7/09/2022, and a 60 mile round-trip commute.

The problem with the remote cellular connection may be the cellular module failing on your bike.  I made a post about this like a year ago.  Here's the link:

I believe with firmware version 19 remote connection started working for me again (with a replaced cellular module).  Remote connection works for me too in version 20.

I did an OTA update before taking the bike in.  It didn't change my custom ride mode like I thought it would.  Just got back from the dealer, they did some calibration on the bike, and updated the firmware (now I have canyon as my custom ride mode).  The update did not change the dashboard to the new version, not sure if the dealer has to deliberately update that for that to happen.  Yet to see if I need to take the bike back in, and ask the dealer to contact zero directly

Ok I made an appointment with my dealer (your favorite dealer Tom, Elk Grove Powersports) and hopefully I get a new battery out of this.  Regarding canyon mode, I believe it overrides your custom mode, and you can change everything about it except the top speed (which I believe is stuck at 108mph), and the name of the mode (so it is always CANYON).

The latest SR/F firmware overrides your custom ride mode with a mode called CANYON, and I believe you either can't change anything about the ride mode or you can't increase the max speed past 108 mph.  This issue wouldn't be a big issue if the SR/F didn't limit the power of the bike as SOC decreases.

I have had "magic charging" since I bought the bike, but it was no where near this bad, and it has not corrected itself in months.  Only riding in the city I have 60 mile reported range at full charge, however I can get 120-130 miles riding in the city before it actually depletes all the way.

Hi, for the past couple months, the estimated range and SOC for my Zero SR/F has been around half of what it should be.  Today I took a 35 mile freeway ride, and it took me from 100% to 0%. 20 minutes later I keyed the bike on to check the SOC, and the SOC is now 53%.  I have completely drained the battery before and charged it, and seems like the battery capacity is OK based on my killa-watt numbers.  I have the previous firmware version, the one before the firmware that forces you to have the CANYON ride mode.   Don't really want to update the firmware because of that.  Bike is currently out of regular warranty but still under the battery warranty.  Any tips besides taking the bike to the dealer?

If your cellular capability is working great, then I'd skip the firmware.  Seems like v18+ breaks cellular connectivity.

Just reporting back here after my dealer completed replacing the cellular communications module.  The bike now says "Connected" under the cellular option in the menus.  However I still can't find my bike or use remote connect at all.  I did try clearing the cache on my app too.  Looks like will have to wait for a firmware update to fix cellular.
