When I had my Ribelle I used it primarily for commuting and never found a tail bag solution I was happy with. I ended up getting a custom rack made so I could mount a Givi WL901 (I think that’s the model number) rigid soft top case. I posted pics in another thread a few years ago if you’re interested. The top case solution worked great while I had my bike. Combined with the OEM soft cases I even did a couple of solo overnight rides.

I had the tank lock adapter on my Ribelle and the tank bag along with the top case & side cases let me carry quite a bit. I used that combination last year when I rode to Reno for the Rib Fest. Plenty of room for clothes and stuff for the 3 days I was there.

I did make sure to use the Givi WL901 rigid soft top case since it weights about half of what their hard cases weight. Plus it complimented the OEM side cases well.

I've stopped accepting automotive flatbeds from AAA to tow my motorcycles after having two bikes damaged due to incorrect application of the straps, not to mention the thought of them dragging my non-functioning bike up the flatbed. Here in the Bay Area, I always insist on JL Motorcycle Towing and Transport. They're a AAA tow/transport that only tows motorcycles and other powersports vehicles. Their trucks are designed specifically for motorcycles and they have trailers to tow side by sides. I usually have to argue and stand firm with the AAA rep, explaining that if they send an automotive flatbed I will refuse the tow and they'll only end up having to dispatch another company anyway.

Fun to see! Hoping this eventually leads to more electric mainstream racing in the future. If the baggers can expand internationally then surely electrics can make more in-roads here in the US.

When I went to the Road 6 GTs on my Ribelle I found that with my traction control on the highest setting, it would almost always kick in under hard acceleration. I don’t think the any of the sport touring tires can handle the torque the Energica’s put out.

I liked them for commuting and tread life but if I were looking for more performance I would stick with the Pirellis despite the short tread life.

This is why I’m enamored with Moto-E, Formula-E, and other forms of electric racing. It seems like development of ICE vehicles has reached a point where it’s a game of inches. Electric feels like improvements will occur in larger increments. Not to mention it seems easier to level the playing field if that’s the desired outcome. Personally, I want to see the best technology win, not necessarily the best rider but I think I’m in the minority there.

I guess in an indirect way she did. I left the Marines under a medical discharge for my knees over 30 years ago. This year has been very painful for me when riding 2-up with my wife. Freeway riding is fine but around town and stop-n-go traffic took the fun out of riding with the Mrs.

I’ve made the switch to 3-wheels and although I’ll miss filtering during my daily commute everything else about 3-wheeling has been fun so far.

Finally, no…I’m not leaving the forum. I may not check it as frequently but I plan on staying. A lot of good folks and good information here. Who knows, maybe one day Can-Am or some other manufacturer may release an electric 3-wheeler with decent range…then I’ll be right back in the mix.
