Was Shawn Higbee there?  I have seen him race buells a few times. Such a fun racer to watch. I heard he's racing electrics now and no longer racing a zero.

Protomech and Hubert,

Valid points.
I can still hope Kymco brings the scooter business model to the Major cities of the USA and that it eventually ties into the release of the bike... But you are correct this model has been tried and not gone well.

The geek in me knows that eventually the batteries will not exist and vehicles will run on some sort of grid but I probably will not be alive by the time we get there.

I've been following EBR (Erik's company post Buell Motorcycle Company) from its inception and know MANY people who have them.  In all the years I've been following them I haven't heard ONE story of one of them "exploding" under the rider.  Do you have a link to back this up?

Ok this could go a lot of ways but since you asked: I am a little hesitant because you are the first person in years that has made claims about knowing anything first hand in the EBR world to not know about the motors blowing... Even former employees...

This is not even one of the ones I was talking about but the first link in a basic "EBR blown engine" google search:

Enjoy

Kymco is already doing this in Taiwan with the scooters. I hope the bike has them as well.

Buell was shut down by Harley because they had an IDIOT of a CEO (Keith Wandell), a golfer who never ONCE sat on a motorcycle.  Just when Harley should've been diversifying their product line, that short-sighted jackass decided to shut down Buell and concentrate on heavy cruisers.  Every Harley dealership I spoke to that also carried Buell said the Ulysses was their biggest selling model.  WTF, why would you shut that down?

This is dead on accurate... But I do know alot of Buell owners from the era you are talking about that are not happy with a long list of problems but those are hands down better than the ones under Eriks own company....

Even down to that custom handmade 45k thing that explodes under the driver, and the social media has to guilt Erik into doing anything to help.. now when one of those overpriced paperweights explodes your only option is to spend a ton more money to buy another motor that will just blow up. Provided you live through it.  Yes the Harley CEO was a joke or destroyed the company on purpose but Without Harleys checks and balances Eriks bikes got worse and cost the people trying to support him tons in bad info.

So Im sticking with nothing associated with Erik until 1.) he does right by some people that really went all in for him. 2.) his bikes have been on the road for a couple of years, no explosions and the machines are supportable.

Be safe and happy ridding.

Is Fuell bankrupt yet?

Haters gotta hate.  :(

With all due respect I don't see that as a hate comment.

It just seems like a comment with a spin of humor based on facts and past history.

Lets say you are a motorcycle fan that has spent well over 100k on Bikes with Erik attached (actually done soo much more to try and help him) only to watch all that money go down the drain. Or better yet have your life put in danger more than once by things exploding underneath you while trying to ride and promote something for them. Then be told misinformation over and over by support. or flat out ignored. and now cant get parts to make those horrible investments even run as basic transportation.... Heck if anything I think  Haag was being polite.

Have a wonderful weekend and ride safe

This is becoming more fun than I thought it would be.

I agree its totally possible the comments about it not being ready could be 100% true.

it is also very possible that Lightening is following a business model.... And these guys have balls so I am rooting for them

I was so disappointed in SR/F ... I wanted Zero to come out swinging after all that hype.

But at the end of day the guy that wishes he could just ride motorcycles all day is seeing how the evolution is going.

When the Volt came out they took a huge loss and it changed the game.  Chevy money betting on the long term.

Im looking forward riding a bike that is safer easier and more cost effective that lets me hear the ocean, smell the air, ride next to cars that are on auto pilot so th drivers can text.... Im going to be riding and electric bike around this planet sooner because of it. Eating steak. That doesn't grow in fields with exhaust running through them 24 hours a day.

Lighting I hope Honda or BMW is behind you, Dell or Apple would be fine too.

Zero I really hope you have something else coming I'm holding out on an upgrade to mine because its starting to not look like a good bet.

This is going to be a blast.

Thank you to all the bad asses working late on your dream. Because you see how much fun ridding can be and you are making it happen.

THANK YOU.

(Please don't be another Beull/EBR ... Too many people that love ridding lost so much money.)

Perhaps this bike will be attractive to some buyers, but as a long time Zero DS owner I wouldn't buy one. Wake me up when the battery pack voltage is upped so the bike can do ChaDeMo / CCS without issues.

Well said... in fact after getting my hopes up for this I just may be selling my 2016 DS when the lightning comes out or the Kymco. If I was going to spend over 20k I would buy the Energica just for how fast it charges. my DS 13.0 gets me around to all the places I need and I do like it but after the massive let down on this  new world/industry changing SRF release  :( I will not waste any more money on zero until charging is faster than 35 min or the bike goes 300 miles on the freeway. I have a feeling this will be my second/last zero.
