In the past decade the Bay Area has dropped from the flagship region for premium motorcycles to something like #20, behind Greece and the rest of Europe.  The blue collar has been priced out, ratty clubhouses have been sold, and those left have moved away from street riding because of lawlessness.  This is visible in many of the new owners and builders of electric motorcycles being from flourishing regions like the Netherlands.

The belt broke the first time I took it out of Eco mode.  Spent the first year in Eco mode because I did not want to break the belt.  Put it in Custom mode, the default "70% initial torque on acceleration" broke the belt on my first pass and stranded me up a mountain. 

I too have noticed a groan from my 2017's belt. 12,000 miles, second belt, aligned well.
