Energica / Re: Energica UK

I am in Suffolk. Ribelle RS.  I have had 3 enérgicas over the years.  I regularly travel to Spain on the RS. The guys at EEMC have always been great support and help with parts, maintenance, and technical queries.

Energica / Re: Solution for Loose Bus Bars?

I have not worked on the battery, but in addition to all said, I recall hearing from the mechanic working on my bike that the screws holding bus bars etc are very small and extremely easy to overtork. Caution is advised

Energica / Re: Dunlop Sportsmark 4 and TC Issue
« on: October 31, 2025, 12:33:13 AM »
I find the TC control for regen very sensitive and always have issues when replacing tires for the first 500 - 1000 mi, the bike is a ribelle RS.

I install Dunlop Mutants which have a very aggresive profile, esp for the rears.  My guess is that the peaky profile causes the rear to roll slightly less than what the computer expects when compared to the front for the OEM tires.  This offset over the preset parameters confuses the computer and causes the TC issues.  I have done several tire changes (3 with mutants) and the issue occures, but fades progressively and goes away after a while (that seems like forever ~ 1000).  Lowering pressure in the rear seems to help as a temporary measure.  I also found that when the computer gets "confused" I have to stop and reebot to stop the issue getting increasilngly worse (basically no regen).

I think our bikes are particularly sensitive because they have to control TC both when acceleratin AND when decelerating (regen). It's all about the relative wheel rotation speed between rear and front, but in regen it gets inversed: less turns in the rear (due slightly larger diameter) makes it look like the rear is slidding.  I think ICE bikes usually don't have deceleration (downsize) TC so the critieria for the computer programming is much easier.

Hope perfomance improves as the tire wears (although you  are right 2000 mi should have been enough)

Another option: Talon TR351 44 525,  Alu sprocket for Ribelle RS

Energica / Re: DC Fast charging issues (UK)
« on: January 17, 2023, 09:11:12 PM »
I  have a 2021 SS9 and regularly charge in the UK.  In general, the main problem is to find charges that are unocuppied.  I very seldom have had to walk away from a charger, but it often takes more than on try to initialize.  Some of the older chargers (BP, POLAR, etc) are more prone to issues.  Due to availability, I try to use larger groupings of chargers (Gridserve are great!), this way is far more likely there isn´t a queue and if a charger doesn´t cooperate I try the next one.

That said, sequence and even how you hold the cable during initialization can make a difference.  I had a DC charge controller installed temporareily in the SS9 (while diagnosing variations on DC charge amps and early "DC Balancing") and while I was always able to charge, I almost always had to try several times.  This went away once the controller was replaced (the DC "bouncing amps" was fixed separately by a factory rep.

Heck, I am on my way back from a 2,185 mi. (round trip) in the UK and Spain charged on the road over 34 times and did not get stranded, I did encounter some non fucntioning/malfunctioning chargers, especially in Spain though.

I also purchased my charger in August.  When it finally arrived I had it installed by my local dealer. It was great while it worked,  but it failed within a week.
Admitedly, the first units had some issues,  but I am still waiting (months)  for a board that functions and the bike doesn't work!!
This has caused a very significant disrruption of long term plans.  However,  when working, the charger is brilliant, and expect a functional board very soon. (I need my bike working!!)
