I concur with the others. You won't regret buying the bike. I should note that the availability for extra options from Zero were confusing when I bought my 2017 SR (in fact one dealer didn't even know you can only choose one). Here are the options:
- extra charging (charge tank), or
- extra battery ( power tank), or
- no extra anything, just the stock plastic storage area (saves $2000+)
In 2017 the S, SR charge tank was required to be factory installed, but our San Jose Zero dealer says 2018 charge tank is different and can be added although at higher cost than pre installed thus could increase your overall investment.
In the end, which option is really a personal preference based on your own expected usage. Some are happy to wait overnight to get 80% batt., but others, like me, want to do some touring now and then. Anyway the dealer who sold me my 2017 SR told me I could add charge tank later and this sadly was not so. Then again, recently I did an aftermarket purchase of diginow 9.9kw which seems a better option than the zero charge tank anyway.
All the best, and for goodness sake regardless of which option you choose, make sure to buy the bike!

My kids got aggressive with banging things in the garage, and unfortuntely gave my new Zero 2017 SR a good whack.
Whacked so hard the red plastic cracked at the storage tank.
It is a clean crack, so I am considering to glue back together.
Any idea what kind of plastic this is?
Is it ABS?
Anyone have experience trying to glue.

My 2017 SR has always shown ABS light ever since I purchased it this June.
I will be taking mine apart soon and intend to check for the same resistance measurements,
or I may just take it in to the dealer.

Hi everybody. Introducing myself....
San Jose CA - recently purchased new Zero SR 2017
Fun story...
Last weekend making a left turn, hit some slick spot and dropped 'er and fractured my arm.
Wow, crazy torque.
Can't wait to heal up and get back on the road.
What have you all experienced with getting parts? Our local Zero dealer, seems too busy to respond to a prior inquiry I had about purchasing a $25 rain guard for the rear fender.

I broke the plastic brake fluid resevoir and bent up the brake lever. Will Zero do mail order? Should I just drive to Scotts Valley?
Any advice on dealing with dealers or buying direct from Zero?

Thank you all for replying so quickly. Relieved my panic.
Indeed the "leak" drippings seem to originate from a point just below where there are holes in the bottom of tank storage. I haven't really stored anything there since I bought it home, but it is a demo model. I am gonna guess something leaked from the tank while in the dealer's showroom and then when I parked in the sun at my office all this week the stuff probably melted and dripped down the sides of the battery.
Sure was a scare. Whew..e Thank you all again for your prompt replies. I think I am gonna like this forum as much as I like my new motorcycle!

2018June29, Bought 2017 discounted, new demo Zero SR. Looks like the battery is leaking after only 1 week of light commuting. This is most disappointing Please share if you have any ideas for me. Pic attached.
