Thanks, Brian! I‘ll take her to my dealer then, and have them do it for me!
Cheers,
Michael

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Calibrating Speedometer 2017 DSR
« on: April 15, 2019, 04:37:40 AM »
Hello eMoto gurus and fans! I upgraded from the stock tires on my 17DSR to Pirelli Scorpion Trails (wishful urban cowboy...) and have noticed that the speedometer is now reading about 8-10% too fast. This wouldn’t be a problem except that I use a connected GPS tracker to record my driving logbook for tax reasons, and it is constantly complaining that me actual mileage doesn’t correspond to what’s on the odometer.
So. How can one adjust or recalibrate the speedometer / odometer on the newer Zeros. I tried the version posted in the forum for a 2013/2014 Model, but this doesn’t work on my 2017.
any ideas or suggestions?
Many thanks!

FWIW I'm debating how to handle the fundamental differences on the unofficial manual wiki, both from a content architecture point of view (how the hell does anyone find anything) and the amount of sheer effort in differentiating content as the curator. Especially since I'm tired of having this role without an agreed upon way for me to be compensated.

FWIW on my end - THANK you, Brian! I‘ve survived with my Zero this long due to the UOZM, and I‘d like to see those responsible thanked. How about an annual donation, much like Wikipedia collects? The first time you access it in a calendar year, you are encouraged / invited / asked to donate. And that gets divvied up between the editors...

As for the separate part of the forum... ambivalent. Sorry.

Yeah, well that’s NewZealand, not Netherlands or Germany, so maybe his motivation would be just a wee bit less. Particularly at this time of year!  :P

Don't be so sure. I've got Dutch relatives and we both crave the EU charging infrastructure.

edit- and beer. Crave beer.

Thanks again to you, too, Dennis!

... Brandon will call if things goes 'wrong' or is even prepared to go 'on-site' like he almost did with Sam and Tim in NZ. ...

Did a full high-speed charge test at a 22kW station yesterday - 50% to 100% in about 48 minutes. Ok, it was just 3º, so maybe in summer that will go a bit faster.

Yeee-ha-haaa! It’s like bringing the Bahamas to the Brits!
Light, warmth, and maybe even some sunburn?

All in the new bellypan.
Bluetooth app work.
Charging at home works.
Tomorrow testing at public charger.

I’ve just completed the same quatrain - and did my first high-speed charge at an EV station in our village (yup, even we have one!). It all works!! Long-distance touring here I come again!

So, to get the message out:
I successfully installed a DigiNow v. 2.5 (37) 6.6 Kw belly-pan mounted supercharger on my 2017 DSR! For this, I would like to thank:
@Brandon Nozaki-Miller - for all the relentless, tireless, complicated engineering that went into the DigiNow 2.5. You’ve done us a great service mate! Arigatoo gozaimashita!
@Dr. Bass - for a belly pan that is a piece of aluminium artistry, beautifully made and solid as a rock!
@Alec Sharp (at English Electric Motorcycle Co.) - for great communication, sorting out all SORTS of problems before I had them, beautiful cables and outstanding support! I’m gonna come visit y’all as soon as I can and buy you (and your team) a pint or three!
@Dennis - for (unknowingly) giving me the tips and tricks and insights - and courage! - to enable me to do all the installation work
@New Zeroland - for amazing videos of removal, installation, testing, programming and general good times with the Zero and DigiNows! (But I’m seriously jealous of the weather y’all are having - it’s 1ºC and grey and wet here... want some?  :P

When I caught the e-bug and was captivated by my Z0e (go ahead, laugh, but every vehicle needs a name, and maybe it’s not original, but it’s mine!), I thought I’d have to give up tours longer than 2 hours or 150Km, but you’ve helped changed all that! Y’all have made a new era in electrical motorcycling possible for me! Thank you all!

Now, anyone have any idea how to turn the sun back on?

I just got a pair of Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires ... Anyone tried these?
I’ve just replaced the OEM MT60s with Scorpion Trail IIs ( I had Scorpion Trails on my GS before...) and I love them. Secure feel, good grip, lovely cornering and a smooth ride. But I can still tackle a gravel road with ease! Warmly recommended!
