Hi Raylvers,

Can you post or forward me a non-burry obscured photo of the design?

I had your footpeg designed milled and they fit and work perfectly.

Anyone know why are all the photo attachments blurry now?

Thanks in Advance

Nice.  We should start a FX Rider report thread.

Went to ride the dirt trails around Mammoth/Owens River off 395 a few months ago with my new 2019 FX with knobbies..MT21's and chain,  super fun.

We were boon-docking camped out in my toy hauler off owens rivers road, the portable Yamaha (2000) generator had no issues charging the FX (and the trailer batteries) up to 100% overnight, ready to go the next morning.

We were averaging about 90 miles(45 miles out and back) with 20% left at the end of the ride back to camp (hill climb down, charged it up).   I also brought my old Yamaha XT225 Dual Sport and didn't even ride it once.. it was all FX.

I installed a mobile dvr and mounted front and rear cameras, and captured some footage I'll upload soon..

General Discussion / Re: AF1 Racing Orders?

Ordered from AF1, two extra set of wheels for my new FX for Dirt... Got both in one week drop shipped from Zero.

I took my '19 FX to ride some trails near Mammoth/Owen's River off 395 last week on a camping trip with new dirt tires MT21's front and rear.
It was a blast.  ;D
Since the bike is brand new, suspension stock preload, rebound damping and  compression damping for the forks and shock was set pretty hard.

The rear was wiggling quite a bit on the trails, and after doing some research the general consensus was to set front and back as soft as you like.

After setting the SAG and also messing with the settings ride after ride (we used a Yamaha 2000 generator to charge it up) the final configuration I set for trail (pumice terrain, here and there) was:

Shock:  Pre-load set to as soft was possible, Compression Damping 3 clicks from Softest, Rebound Damping 3 clicks from Softest.
Forks:  Pre-Load set to one complete circle of the dial Soft, Compression 3 clicks from Softest, rebound 3 clicks from Softest.

I noticed the back end stopped wiggling as much, and for small whoops and bumps got alot better.   At the softest settings I did notice that the front end didn't track as precise as to when it was on stock settings but overall the bike was lower.  The key word is really not soft but make it Plush.

For Desert like terrain, it would be the opposite and the settings would be reversed if you cover alot of sandy, sand like terrain, you probably don't want it with soft settings so it floats over the sand better...    In general I felt the FX behaved differently over sand as compared to a Yamaha Enduro... the rear wiggled a bit more, maybe due to the constant torque of the electric motor on the rear wheel..

For Modes,  I felt Eco mode was the most ideal, for range and performance.  I tried different custom mode settings but I always went back to using Eco and sometimes Sport.
We really never went over 40mph and averaged about 33-40miles per hour on the trails.

Buy Sell Trade / Re: Looking for Zero X/MX
« on: July 12, 2019, 05:09:41 AM »
I have a original MX 2010 with additional parts added from an X, and a newer battery (2011/12) that runs well.

The battery is plugged in on the charger 24/7 as recommended for those older type of Zero batteries and seems to be in great shape.  Runs the speced range for a 1.5kW Zero battery.  I think it's about 1 hr or 30min.

It's got a new front fairing with lights and turn signals, Brake lights.
Also have the Zero X Speedo gauge and added a Zero X kick stand(MX didn't come with one).

Fairly new MT21/D606 Tires used only on 2 desert trips.

Willing to part with it for $2350.   Prefer pickup in SoCal.

I'll attach some photos soon.

What BMS and charger did you use for the Nissan batteries?
Did you bypass the zero brain and use something else like a Cycle Analyst with the Alltrax controller?

My goal is to double the range for trail riding..

Thanks

Nice thread. What is the range using the Nissan batteries?
Please give us more details.
I'd like to increase the range on a 2011 MX, currently it has a new updated stock battery but if it was double the range, it would be nicer..  I'm getting about an hours worth, 14 miles I think.. Used a Garmin GPS to track it.
Max speed is about 25mph to 30mph on sandy desert trails, nothing crazy.

Bought used to ease into my first electric enduro, working on making it street legal for trails, everything is working, fun in the desert, I'm hooked.

Buy Sell Trade / Re: Looking to buy Zero MX/X parts

Got an old MX Battery case?

What are my chances of using the BMS since it's disconnected from the orginal battery with Nissan Leaf cells that have been mentioned to works for a refresh?

Buy Sell Trade / Looking to buy Zero MX/X parts

Looking for another MBB, BMS for a Zero MX.

Or any other parts for a Zero MX (2010,11).

I acquired a 2011 MX in great shape but want to acquire or build another battery.
The current battery is fine.  Just want another battery or build another battery using Nissan Cells.

Anyone have a spare BMS and or BMS/Battery Box/Bad battery?

I picked up the bike as a potential long term project, in which if I can't keep the zero electronics working, I would eventually replace all of the electronics with a kit, including motor (Brushless)..

Also looking for spare parts for the MX.

Thks
