Yes, that sounds right NEW2.  I haven't actually pulled the batteries out of my FX, but I have that center piece that would prevent the 6.5 KW battery from being inserted.  Likewise, I can see how my modular batteries wouldn't fit his FXS non-mod.  Thanks! 

I do agree it's a good buy for someone wanting an FXS.  I have some interest but would have had more had this FXS been a modular bike, since I'm keeping my 2017 FX modular. 

Right.  I'm wondering if I would be able to pull the FXS battery off fairly easily and slide it into my FX (after removing my 2 mod batteries) and vice versa.  I've been eyeing a 2016 FXS modular, but I like the added torque of the 2017.  I think 2016 FX/FXS was 70 lbs of torque and the 2017 is 78 lbs?   

Sure.  Of course, I'm familiar with the FXS.  I kind of wanted that bike, but decided I wanted to have the best off road Zero, so went FX.

I'm just wondering about putting street tires on my current rims.  Seems like it would be a big job to get new supermoto rims and change it that way?  So, no, I don't think I would do that.

Can you/anyone point me to which street tires might be the best for the FX stock rims?  Does this seem like the best thing to do for when I'm riding it solely on the street during the off season?

That's right, the belt is wider with the 2017 and hopefully, that would help somewhat.  I am sticking with the belt for now and will go chain if I feel I need it in the future. 

Thanks for the info Alan and MrDude.  I appreciate the advice!  I'm thinking I'll likely go with a hybrid or plug-in hybrid.  I'm not wanting to spend much over $ 20 K.  Hopefully, I decide in the next few weeks.   

Alright, thanks for the "riding with one pack" info.  I can see myself doing that in a couple situations.  Maybe I will even see that I like tooling around my neighborhood and suburb with one pack while the other charges.  I can definitely see the advantage of doing it at a cabin in Island Park, ID that has loads of trails right next door.  I doubt I will even ride at highway speeds very often...but if I did, of course I would only use two packs at once. 

I'm curious on your thoughts on belt or added chain drive?  I'm going to be riding a fire break road that is moderately rough, but not so much that regular cars can't drive it.  I really hope to keep the silence of my belt, but unsure if it is that likely I'll snap it or mess it up on the bumpy, fire break road.  What are your thoughts on that? 

So when I pick up my new, 2017 6.5 KW (mod) bike in a few days at the dealership, I can purchase an extended warranty on top of the standard factory 2 year bike and 5 year battery warranty.  They are telling me it would be $ 1,000 for two additional years and $ 1,350 for 3 additional years of total coverage.  I see myself in UT for at least 5 + more years and I'm seriously considering buying it.  It sounds great to have 4 or 5 years of total warranty coverage.  What do you all think?
