I've had the 9.9 setup in my pan for probably over a year now. I find it to be robust and can't believe I got along without it for almost the first 8 months of owning my 2017 DSR. My particular set up does not have Jplugs mounted anywhere. I keep them in my top box and when I'm about to charge, I connect one or two of them (depending on the situation) and they sort of hang to the ground and I connect the Chargepoints. Yesterday I spend nearly 12 hours on the road exploring Yosemite and then riding back to Oakland. At one point all chargers in Yosemite were occupied by Teslas so I had to leave the park and luckily found an RV park that let me charge up for a 1/2 hour. The diginows have a great NEMA 1040/50 Amp plug that I use along with a splitter to get nearly 10k of charging power.
As for heating up, while charging at high power, I've noticed the batteries could heat up by around 10 degrees but unless you are a maniac on the road, they will cool down. In the hot San Joaquin Valley of California during the Summer I've never come close to the bike powering down due to overheating though I'm sure it's been close a few times. Two days ago, after a very long day of highway riding and charging, the battery was at 122 degrees. Not sure how hot it can get before shutting down.
I also have to point out that I'm the type just just loves putting the mikes behind me and I don't think Zero designed the bike for long cruising in mind lol, but its been a great bike made better with the Diginows. Just hit 29,0000 miles on it yesterday.
