Tech Help / Re: Troubleshooting a 2018 DS 13.0 possible issue

Sorry for the delayed reply, been down with what feels like the plague since new years. Thank you for the advice.

Hi anterabae,

I can't help resolve the problem from the symptoms, but I'd like to spew my $.02 of advice.

First contact should be through a dealer. Zero can't be expected to provide first-level support (even if they have generously done that from time to time). And even if you get information here, it's likely that only a dealer can resolve it.

Report both problems to the dealer right away so they can put it on the service record. First, the dead bike with all the error codes, and the exact date and time of the occurrence. This documents the (clearly unacceptable) problem as having originated within the warranty period. Second, the app failure to upload logs. Zero should know about that, whether or not they consider it a warranted feature or just a perk. But it should not be a distraction.

I'm sure the dealer can download logs through a physical connection, and between them and Zero they'll have a diagnosis (the exact date and time helps them pinpoint the relevant log entries).
Hey, $.02 adds up! :) Cheers, I just assumed because the logs go to Zero, Zero handles it, but I'll take the correction. Good call on reporting to create a record. My nearest dealer is 200km away, which has always been my worry, but sending him what I have until I can possibly get by there (likely not til March given I'm in Ontario  ;)) makes absolute sense.

Zero does recommend checking on cold-stored vehicles at a similar interval just to check for such issues but it's hard to know what's going on here without BMS logs that a dealer will be best positioned to extract.

Before going to a dealer, you can attempt a BMS Reset as an owner, though, which stands a chance of clearing up the issue:

I'll give that a shot, thanks!

Tech Help / Troubleshooting a 2018 DS 13.0 possible issue

Hi there,

Hoping this won't be an ongoing thing, but thought I'd run it by here to see if anyone has any thoughts. I parked my DS at 77% SOC in underground lot in early November, thinking I'd be able to get her out again to bring the charge down a bit, but weather has been against me. I went down the other day to check the SOC, still 77%. Did a quick once over of things like testing the brake lights and blinkers, etc, and everything looked normal, so I covered her up again and went on my way.

The next morning the weather was +10C so I threw on my gear, tossed off her covers, and when I went to start her, the SOC now showed 0%, and I was getting a wackload of error messages. Tried to pull the logs, but that only resulted in the app crashing each time. Tried plugging her into an outlet, and while it registered it was connected to a power supply, it didn't appear to charge at all. Covered her up again, and came back to her today, and it's like nothing was ever wrong; turned her on, no more error messages, and she's ready to ride. Tried to pull the logs again just in case, but again the app crashes after about 65%.

The errors I got were:
Warning indicator light: BMS throttle disable
Error codes:
6 - BMS Throttle enable wire error
25 - Contactor open warning
30 - BMS CAN error
40 - BMS Throttle En wire disable
48 - SEVCON startup disable
49 - Contactor open disable

I took a video of the dashboard while the errors were running, with the thought I'd send that all in with the logs. Wondering if there's even any point contacting Zero without the logs.

Just picked up this little beauty yesterday, and boy is she fun! Thought I'd finally say hi here now that I'm an owner. [emoji41]

Anyone else in the Toronto Canada area?
