The Israel dealer is stocking bikes, typically delivering same day.  I was in again today and the sales manager said they've placed an order for something like 50 bikes just for the next couple of months.  There's a lot of traffic there.  I was trying to convince them to part with their demo FXS, tried for 2 hours.  They wouldn't, I guess its hard to sell what you don't have.  He suggested I contact Zero because they're not hearing anything despite 2019 Zeros showing up at dealers all over the US.  I just asked my brother to take a look at the new FXS if someone in Boston has it.  I just don't understand why we're still waiting.  I placed this order in June and with so many bikes on order you'd think someone from Zero would reach out to us!  I might cancel, need a bike now!

We have buyer group here (Israel) that ordered 20 FXS in June from the local Zero dealer.  They were offering some really great pricing because another 50 bikes are going to motorcycle instructors later this year.  In July we were told Zero was offering to upgrade us to 2019 FXS that were to be delivered early this month.  The dealer is still honoring the pricing, though a few of us have dropped out, but the dealer says Zero is not providing a delivery date.  It seems like a real problem with the supply going back a few years. I was in today and they have only new DSR and an FX.  Not a dealer issue they say they ordered 2 container loads. 2 years ago the S was sold out, last year I came with cash for an SR and it was sold out, now the FXS has been sold out since summer and no one will tell me when our bikes will be in.  I was about to go with the ALTA but it doesn't have the same range and not clear whats happening with them.  Do any USA dealer have FXS?

I'd suggest the problem was the "new" management that deposed 6 years of passionate leadership and slow growth with hubris and ultimately a failed partnership attempt with Harley Davidson.  They're down but not out.  ALTA has funds.

it's a SCOOTER, not a MOTORCYCLE. and it's slow. hi-speed or fast is 80-100 mph, not 45 mph.

My understanding is the max continuous power rating is the spec bike, as is, no external power.

DoctorBass, you hit the nail on the head.  I'd be very happy if the wife didn't require a new license to ride an Energica. Local dealer also commented they don't quite know where the figure for the Ego's power rating is coming from, it doesn't seem right. They said they confirmed with Energica but don't seem at all convinced. The number seems more marketing focused.

Depending on price, this might actually make more sense as a commuter than a Zero, even though it obviously has less performance & range (and I'm sure doesn't handle as well).

Energica / ENERGICA sales numbers in 2017?

We've been thinking of buying a pair of ENERGICAs for a while now.  Anemic sales numbers concern me.  My Italian is not so great and from what I'm reading in their financials less than a dozen motorcycles sold in the first-half of 2017.  Is this possible!  I was expecting something closer to 80, maybe 100.  Can anyone confirm what their financials suggest and how Energica did July-Dec 2017?

YES. Most vehicles cannot maintain PEAK POWER indefinitely. EVs such as Zero Motorcycles have continuous peak power ratings that are a fraction of the peak power that may be delivered for 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes.

That's sort of the explanation I received from the dealer.  I normally buy new every October but they've been sold out of the SR for a while. I was offered an amazing deal on an Ego, a price just a little more than I paid a few years ago for an SR. The weight doesn't bother me, don't need the extra range and appreciate the ability to charge in 20 minutes eventually, it'll encourage me to make the Ego a permanent addition.

back to the original question. Does anyone know the correct power rating for the Energica Ego?  If the Zero SR is only 28hp, how is it possible that the Energica Ego is 145hp?
