My cables touch the plastic as well. I checked a picture of the demo bike I rode in April and there it looked the same.

At least in Austria the situation is not as grim as you put it. The attached screenshot shows all CCS chargers listed on goingelectric.de
Austria has a very good network indeed. Along the main routes they have lots of CCS. But in the side valleys it looks a bit different. Out of experience I know that these CCS chargers are sometimes out of service. And if you have only one charger every 100km it could get a bit tight with the range. At the moment you still do have a bigger choice with AC stations. So: no offence!

I have to admit I didn't watch the whole video, only parts of it, as these two guys are really annoying. And I don't see the point of such a comparison. Are they comparing speed, torque, acceleration or what? The germain newspaper "die Zeit" wrote something about the SR/F. It's not an academic article either. They kind of compared the SR/F with the KTM 1290 Super Duke R and the Ducati Monster 1200 R. I quote one part of the article: "Im Sprint sind die Verbrenner von KTM und Ducati gegen die elektrische Rakete chancenlos. Ab 140 km/h lässt der Vortrieb der Zero spürbar nach. Dann sind die beiden Benziner auf Touren gekommen und hängen die Elektromaschine locker ab."
In English:
"During sprint, the KTM and Ducati ICE are without chance against the electric rocket. From 140 km/h on, the drive of the Zero noticeably subsides. Then the two petrol engines got into gear and leave the electric bike behind."
As far as I know, there is only one country in the world, where you are still allowed to go beyond 140km/h (87mph). For the huge majority of us speed beyond the legal limit is pointless.

Keep in mind the charging figures. Enerigica is super cool when you can charge via CCS but if you have to stick to AC charging, then there is only 3kW available. When you have plenty of DC charging stations thats a minor issue but if you plan a trip through the mountains (of Switzerland and Austria for excample), you'll find loads of AC stations but hardly any CCS. Hence I have ordered a SR/F premium with the additional 6kW.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Charging behaviour with chargetank
« on: April 11, 2017, 09:31:03 PM »
You are using a 16 amp cable? But what is the rating of the breaker? Typically I think you would either have a 15 amp or 20 amp breaker for a 120V outlet (at least in USA). Is this a 120V outlet?
Here were I live we usually have 10 amp cables with circuit breakers tripping at 13 amp (240V) for our regular house sockets.
A 16 amp cable was required for the wallcharger (3.7 kW (16A/240V)).
When you say the "circuit breaker tripped" are you talking about the breaker in the circuit breaker panel of your house or a breaker or fuse in the wall charger itself? Does the indicator turn off before or after this circuit breaker trips?
Im talking about a circuit breaker in the circuit breaker panel.
In the meantime I found out, that this is a circuit breaker combined with a "residual current operated circuit breaker". So I presume there is a false current sensed when the contactor opens at the end of the charge cycle. I've charged with a portable charger yesterday and no circuit breaker tripped at the end of the cycle.
My conclusion: the described "disconnection habit" is absolutely normal, as I have to switch the key to ON position prior to initiating a charge cycle for powering the motorcycle’s on-board charger and the J1772 Interface Board (JIB) and then keep charging with the key to OFF position, the on-board charger and the JIB will lose power as soon as the contactor opens. Therefore the bike will be found dark after charging.

Thank you guys for your answers.
There is only one outlet on the wallcharger circuit - the wallcharger itself. Max current for this power cable is 16 amps.
So there is only one question remaining: is the charge tank disconnecting normally at the end of a charge cycle?
@mrwilsn: any idea why the charger is drawing the most power at the end of the cycle?

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Charging behaviour with chargetank
« on: April 07, 2017, 03:03:52 PM »
I had my chargetank installed last summer, but I never made a full charge through the charge tank until February. I charged my SR with my Chevy-Volt wallcharger. After the charge I realised that both the display and charging indicator were dark. I checked the circuit breaker of the wallcharger and found it tripped. The battery was 100% SOC after the charge. The log file did show nothing special.
Since then I had a closer look to the charging behaviour of my SR. When I charge through the standard C14 socket the bike charges to 100% and remains connected (charging indicator solid green). When I charge through the chargetank the bike charges to 100% and disconnects after a while (charging indicator off) and during this disconnection the circuit breaker tripped twice out of four charging processes.
Can any chargetank owner confirm this “disconnection†habit?
Furthermore I’ve noticed that the charging indicator went from flashing to solid at around 96% and the whole display was flashing 7 times at 97% SOC (C14 charge) and 7 times at 100% SOC (chargetank shortly before disconnection).
Has anyone else seen his display flashing for a short while during charging?
And there is on more thing: my SOC is jumping from 97% to 100% and the log file shows
SOC adjusted for voltage old: 3393837uAH (soc:97%), new: 0uAH (soc:100%), low cell: 4143 mV
I will bring my SR to the dealer next week but nevertheless your comments are highly appreciated.

« on: November 22, 2016, 02:56:22 AM »
Hi
I'm sorry to bring this thread on top again, but are your apps really working? I have an iPhone 6/iOS 10 and an old iPhone 4S/iOs 9 showing both the same behaviour. Both have the latest app installed. When I go the the riding screen, the app takes the actual values and makes no updates of these values, as if there was no data stream. When I go to the battery page, all the datas there are updated on the fly. I have reconnected the bluetooth and de/reinstalled the app. No joy! Does anyone know an email address for bug reporting? The official zeromotorcycles page is not really helpful.
Thank you for any shared knowledge,
George

« on: August 30, 2016, 11:09:57 PM »
Does anyone know when exactly the adjustment of the tension should be done, before or after a ride. I've realised, that my SR's tension goes up from 25kg (cold) to 35-40kg (warm). I reckon it has to be adjusted in cold state.

My 16 SR is at my dealer at the moment for the charge tank installation. I rode home with his 14 SR trough some torrential downpour. And now the 14 SR is dead. When I arrived at home and switched off the ignition, the green charging LED started to flash rapidly. Switching ignition back on all was normal. Switching back to off the light was flashing again. The bike had shown the same behaviour at the dealer 3 months ago, when I first rode it as a test bike. I plugged in the power cable and the bike started to charge normally. The next morning the charge was completed. I switched the bike on shortly, to check if everything was ok and ok it was then. But later in the evening I passed the bike in my garage and realised that the display was flashing. I've read about flashing displays here in the forum and I've tried everything what others did with their flashing display but nothing worked for me. Finally I realised that the BMS is showing no LED anymore. I must admit, I'm really worried now about the reliability of Zero concerning wet conditions.
