@domingo3 yep - the videos I look have timestamps.

First vid around 23rd of December at 1013 Canberra local time
Second vid around 1st of January at 0712 local

Also Zero have started assisting, so that's great news. Hopefully we can resolve this satisfactorily.

@PittCaleb Absolutely. I was able to locate my files in:

/sdcard/Android/data/com.ZeroMotorcycles/files

Failing that you may be able to run the find command to locate any .bin files. You may need to install a terminal emulator to run it, or via adb.

Logs are a good idea. Unfortunately the app crashes before I can submit the logs but I've been able to extract them from the phone.

Does anyone have the email address the logs typically get submitted to?

I've also attached the logs here.

The isolation faults are a concern, but it seems to have rectified itself when I went for that test ride.

The fact that it'll randomly only charge to 91% is a concern. Also this line seems odd:

Received FAULT from PL536 #5, Fault Status Reg: 0x04

However if I can get the email address to submit these to I'll email them to Zero for their comment

I've got two, one for the rear. I hadn't gotten around to installing it yet because wiring it is a bit of a pain and I didn't find any place on it I was overly happy with. Now I wish it had it on just to see what happened moments prior to the impact.

Thanks for the reply.

I should have been clearer, the bike never made it to a zero dealer as the insurance provider insisted on finding a local repairer which happened to be a panel beater. Unfortunately my closest dealer is half a country away since Zero has pulled out of Australia.

So basically I can guarantee there was no firmware update performed with the repairs - and I can state they also didn't even look at anything other than the plastics.

On my first ride the battery got to about 69% just leaving my suburb... but most of that was lost just leaving my garage so unsure how linear it is

I've got a question for any zero FXS owners.

Having recently received my bike back from smash repairs I've noticed my battery isn't performing as I'd expect. This first video shows the battery percentage dropping rapidly while the bike is idle. I managed to catch the tail end of it after noticing it before I went for my first ride after getting it back.



The second video shows a 9% drop immediately after disconnected mains power.



In both videos the bike has had ample opportunity to charge. So I'm wondering if the bike is known to behave like this and whether there are any tests to perform to check battery health.

Thanks evtricity. I was hoping you might see the post. Thanks for checking with the Sydney group.

The panel beater they originally took it to was just going to replace the plastics, not checking or caring about the rest of the electrics. My concern wasn't just that they were unqualified to make an assessment on the electrics, but that they didn't even seem to consider it as a factor.

The lack of a qualified repair shop doesn't seem to have put them off, as it seems they think any repair shop will do. Or to put it in the words of the assessor "they'll get an electrician in to look at the 'digitals'" as "they have experience with hybrids"

To be clear, if it's just mechanical issues then great - it may be repairable. But until a qualified person knowledgeable with Zero bikes can assure me the bike is electrically sound I won't consider it repaired/roadworthy (I'm just stating this in general to any observers - not in reference to anything written here)

Back in September I was sandwiched between two cars. (Video for those interested )

At the time I contacted Procycles in St Peters who told me they would be willing to repair the bike. After some significant debacles with Shannons I finally contacted Procycles again to arrange transport and discover they are no longer willing to repair any Zero motorcycles.

Does anyone know of any repair centres in Australia that'll have experience working with Zero bikes? Shannons had originally taken it to a local panel beater but the extent of their electrical assessment was 'it seems to ride fine up the driveway'... I know for a fact the bike did not want to ride up the towtruck tray after the accident, so I suspect there's at least some intermittent issue.

Wow - that's a very familiar story to me. I've been waiting for my 2016 FXS since March 4th! I call them up every week and it's just delay after delay. The dealer informs me that they're trying to schedule time with Zero to look at the bike, and that their poor internet connection is giving them issues and they don't want to risk bricking the bike should the internet cut out.

FWIW I've put in an enquiry with the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) to ask what a reasonable amount of time is to wait for warranty repairs. I'll then have to look at my options.

Also as an aside the dealership informed me that I'm one of four Zeros in their workshop in a similar boat. Considering that Zero has pulled out of Australia I didn't think too much of it as their access to Zero or level of expertise might be subsequently affected... but if it's not an Australian issue but more global I'm more concerned.

I've got a 2016 FXS and have also recently discovered that my range estimate is about half of what it used to report. I noticed it a couple of weeks after my firmware update and have been keeping an eye on it ever since.

Unfortunately temperate changes wouldn't explain my issue, I'm in Australia and we're approaching summer weather.

Interestingly my daily battery percentage use hasn't gone down a proportional amount. I used to get home with about 65% remaining, now I get around 55%. So I can believe the range estimate is more pessimistic now (by about half) but there's still something else at play as far as I can tell

Every other time vmod for Module 00 has reported a similar reading to Module 01..

Interestingly there's nothing on the BMS0 or 1 to indicate anything's wrong. Also Module 00 seems to fix itself before I stop riding as closing the contactor shows reasonable levels.

So my current guess is, intermittent connector failure for battery 0?

Sorry to hear about that shitty outcome MajorMajor. I'm going to detail my specifics below in case it bites anyone else - then if we can determine the fault is something else it might help you out.

Unfortunately my memory was a bit off. My bike is at 4800kms.

The logs are below. Unfortunately I couldn't see the same errors as yours - in fact, I don't see anything out of place on my logs apart from me turning it off and on again after it stopped.

The only modification that I made to my bike was powering front and rear camera system from the aux power port (I have the aux power jack accessory on my bike)

I just noticed this:
