Yeah Don thanks for the good tip, I've done it before that way. That's doable even though I am in New Zealand (chargenet is online and can watch DCFC on their app), but it's nice when using AC charging or just limited signal etc to be able to get charging info just via bluetooth. Hopefully with LRC or a future update, something will happen. And maybe 'the wizard' has a fix...

I may have confused things by comparing to my old Zero, but yes this is on my 2020 Energica Eva107 (and the same currently for everyone else on an Energica I believe). I would be happy with the Zero functionality of bluetooth if it were on the Energica...at least that way I could monitor without the key and from a relatively close proximity.

Yes, once LRC is available, it makes a lot of sense to get it...but with Bluetooth already on the bike and functioning there must be an available solution now?? Might have to ask 'the wizard'

On good authority, Energica are working on long range connection (LRC) much like a Tesla works...and it should be backwards compatible. The platform is there, but they are pushing hard just to meet demand for the MY 2021 bikes, so less time currently. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long :)

As for security of bluetooth, i'm not too concerned in NZ. Nothing worth doing with my metadata anyway. But the very simple code that allowed diginow chargers to work without the key along with Serial Bluetooth Connector was really great, even when limited only to bluetooth. I could walk well away from the bike or get the data thru windows and some thin walls if not too far from the charging.

While LRC and OTA comms will be great, I'd be happier with bluetooth in the interim.

Anyone else frustrated with this? Bluetooth is not a massive feature, but the lack of it is frustrating when I was used to diginow charging on my old Zero. If you use the app at all, the only main feature for me would be to begin charging and be able to monitor the charge from a distance. Of course LRC (long range connection) is being worked on now by Energica, which will be great. But bluetooth should absolutely work without the key on!

Being able to begin charging, and monitor it while you sit in a cafe or even in your house or workplace with a line of sight to the bike is a really useful feature, but very annoying when you can't do this without leaving the key in the bike and it turned on! No one would comfortably leave their bike with a key in it on, so just not sure if there's a work around or why this glaring fault wasn't corrected? Does the braintrust have any solution or workaround?

considering it's just the controller, all they need to do is offer it as an option i suppose? but then i suppose offering a lower-power choice is another form of option? personally i reckon the 'option' should be the look and design, but power should be available at different price points.

Power, plain and simple. And if you were deciding between the SS9+ or Ribelle, I still prefer the more aggressive styling and look of the Eva. Love my 107, 2020 and just prefer it to the more 'evoke' looking SS9...they are a nice bike, and certainly more comfortable for a pillion, but these bikes have a range that suggests pillions stay home, ride something else, or only come on shorter trips.

We are similar in that regard...i got the rear seat fairing PPE coated...thinking about doing the entire bike ;) No issues with rubbing or scratches, plus I'll only have these on when I'm on long trips.

Well that was quick! Just a day or two getting these bags and I think they actually work and look pretty good!


Here's a few more angles, but nevermind the dirty undercarriage...i live up a gravel road and it's damp at the moment. I will likely attach a strap to the back of the bags at the D-rings and affix to the pillion pegs for even more rigidity. They came with new rain covers & universal bracket mounts too (for the bags to sit against), so I'll have a look but don't expect them to fit. These were 2nd hand $60usd, used 2 times, and look brand new. I'll probably just use them for longer road trips, but that's a great deal and a decent looking solution.

yeah mate, that's the frustrating part about it...i know it's possible on most people's phones and computers so was really flummoxed as to why it wasn't working for me. Just goes from Coda to e.GO to Fiat...no other options between there or anywhere else for Energica.

BUT I FIGURED IT OUT!!! Well at least I tried something and it worked, but it's lame. I'm using firefox, which apparently is the issue. I was using duckduckgo on the phone, which is another issue. It seems that shitty CHROME, the main corporate browser, works just fine. So at least the issue isn't me or my limited mental capacity, but actually that I don't use the wealthiest, most metadata-collecting, privacy-abusing, bloatware and spyware prone Chrome Browser! There may be another shitty browser that allows it to work, but I just changed over on someone else's chrome browser and it worked. There are LOTS of other vehicle brands that turned up when I did...so do with that information what you must.

As a side note, all that frustration just to have the text read 'Energica Eva 107' and i still just get a generic car under a cover for the main pic lol

Hi guys, just adding to the luggage discussion. I looked into this a lot b4 and after getting my Eva107, and couldn't justify the Energica cost, even if it had a basic bracket system. I can see two very good mounting points (under seat x2, and under the 'hand grabs' x2), but any custom rack should really be minimal and hopefully double as a grab rail for the pillion.

For me, I figured I would just strap a bag on the tail when I ride long distance, as my wife only jumps on the back occasionally. But a set of the Givi 101B came up for around 60usd/100nzd used only 3 times, so I jumped on them to try. I'll report what they're like soon, but plan to put the strap UNDER the seat so it's not interfering with charging. The main issue I might face is the bags pointing towards the rear tyre when filled, but it's pretty easy to attach a bungy from one side to the other to pull them more together if this is happening. It's basic, but it's also cheap. I'll let you know how I get on. Failing this, I'll be looking at a rear rack that I can strap a waterproof bag to and just work with that.

Yeah I never heard of that, and wonder if it's some glitch in the matrix and it should be Energica? But still no luck, so I sent a bug report to Plugshare. We'll see what happens...

some weird voodoo shit is going on...i log in from duckduckgo and it's the same as my phone and also on the laptop using Firefox...NO ENERGICA. I've done the update, reloaded the app, and it refuses to show. I assume it's in the list for you guys after "e.GO" as all vehicles are in alphabetical order. But every OTHER bike is there, which is pretty frustrating. Might just give up, but there must be some logical explanation?
