Buy Sell Trade / 2016 Zero FX 6.5 9,500 950 miles
« on: October 06, 2016, 09:08:37 PM »
I bought this bike less than 6 months ago. Amazing bike, super fast, pops wheelies easily. Selling because it wasn't my finest financial decision.

950 miles on the odo. 1.5 years of factory warranty left.

Includes a luggage rack for the back.

Pricing includes the passing on of savings from tax credits. I'm eating the tax, shipping, setup fee plus a little more. Basically a brand new bike! Only flaw is a little scratch on the left mirror housing.

Contact me for any questions!

Picking up tomorrow. The BMS that Zero sent was apparently programmed for a monolith, and not the dual battery system the FX has. SF Moto reprogrammed the BMS and it's working now.

SF Moto replaced my BMS (took over 2 weeks).

They say it's still not fixed. Maybe a new charger? I've had the bike since May, and it's been in the shop for a month an a half total with less than 1000 miles on it.

Buyers remorse, over here.

yup, those are the ones I put on. Generally happy with them, I like the bite of the old pads though. Was willing to do almost anything to get rid of that horrible sound!

I just started having some goofy problems with a '16. error codes 15 and 47 were popping up, not charging. Power cycled the bike, error codes went away. Tried riding and it was working fine at low speed. As soon as I twisted the throttle to accelerate, the power would cut with no error code. Turning the bike off and on reset, and bike was rideable again, but power would cut as soon as I twisted the throttle again.

Bike is going in tomorrow. I feel like a beta tester.

was wondering what that was for! I found it under there when I was exploring.

just updating this thread with the correct brake pads for the '15-16 FX

the front pads are EBC FA181

I tried the FA181X carbon pads, and they work pretty well. No squealing. Definitely diminished performance over the stock sintered.

Thanks for all the work you're putting in! It's a great idea!

If you're willing to sacrifice a bit a braking power, the EBC FA181x organic compound pad will likely stop your squeal. I just installed those pads this morning, so far no squeal.

the brake pads section of the manual is confusing and wrong in regards to the '15 and '16 FX. The FX has a different front pad than the rest of the model line.

I've edited the page. Feel free to check my work, I dunno what I'm doing just yet.

I just installed replacement front brake pads for the '16 FX. FA181 pads from ebc fit the J Juan brakes on the FX.

I put the Kevlar pads on, no more squealing. Also reduced braking performance without as much bite. Not sure if I'm going to go back. Good $25 experiment though.

I think you can rent such a puller at any FLAPS. That would make the job pretty easy

I read the doc, doesnt seem too hard.

KLX part on back order  :-\

Interesting, Brian, I had the opposite experience regarding service. I guess different people prefer different approaches. SF Moto came up with the KLX idea for the brake squeal.
