Are you still looking for a crashed bike with working electronics and motor?
I have a 2011 Zero DS, and It only has 14K miles on it. I layed it down last september and the front forks are tweeked.. Outside of that it's in great shape.

Was considering a battery rebuild, but have come across a statement that my battery may actually be good. The manual states that I could get as much as 58 miles on a charge and currently I'm getting close to 25. I had thought that maybe I had some serious battery degradation. When I posted looking for someone's dead battery to cannibalize from a gentleman posted that my battery must be ok to get 25, cuz when the magazines tested the bike in 2011 that's about all it got.

So, is my battery dying, or is the 58 miles a unicorn?

I didn't know. That's kind of disappointing. I was getting all geared up to do a rebuild... Now I question if I need to just get a new bike.

Hey guys,

I'm looking to rebuild my pack. I have a pretty good idea how to do the general assembly. I don't understand the BMS wiring at all. Looking to crack open a bad battery to learn now to wire up the new. in the meantime, I don't want my bike in pieces scattered all over my tiny and ever-shrinking apartment.

If I can get my hands on some IBR-26700A cells (168). And a dead battery, I think I can do the assembly of the pack myself. The Dealer want's 6K for a replacement battery. And they said nothing about any changes in CELL's either output and just wanted to push me into a new bike.

Gents & Ladies,

I just bought a 2011 DS. Love it.. fun to drive. But the max range is between 24 and 26 miles. Manual says 58. So guessing that the battery is going. The bike only has 800 miles on it. I am considering rebuilding the pack. This may take time, and I don't have a shop to work in.

I understand how to string the cells... but the BMS wiring ... that's another story. Hoping to find a dead battery so I can understand how to rewire that portion of the battery.

I know Moli doesn't make the IMR-26700A cells and they replaced that model with the IBR-26700A . I am currently in search of IBR-26700A cells.

Furthermore, upon some researching I discovered that the last production of the IMA batteries was in 2009.. so my DS was built and likely many/all 2011, 2010, and 2009's were made with 2009 or older cells.

I'd like to rebuild the battery with the one on the bike intackt.. thus, I can play with the dead one while still riding the 1/2 dead one.

ZERO quoted me 6000 for a replacement battery. They offered me $6000 on a trade in for a new bike, but that means spending 10,000. Or worse financing $10,000.

Like most here I was looking to save money... If I can locate a seller of the IBR cells I think I can rebuild the pack for close to $2,000

I am looking for a dead battery for a ZERO 2011 DS. Looking to rebuild the pack for my running 2011 DS. But I don't want the downtime. If I had a dead battery to dismantle that would be better. I've found som pictures online about the break down and repare of a 2009. But ulitmatly it has not answered my questions about the BMS.

So again, in short. I'm looking for a Dead Zero 2011 DS battery.
