Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: FX chain mod

I can't imagine what the big deal was. I changed my 2016 FX over to chain with very little effort. Of course having the correct tools helped. Specifically a large two jawed puller that fits around the frame and through the swing arm bearing opening. The whole job took less than two hours.

No interest? Okay, I can live with that. But I must say that I am surprised what with all imports to the US being sold out before they even get here.

Run full knobbies. Plenty of noise!

Thank you. That makes sense.

Glad to hear that you have it figured out but...maybe just a language thing but I am totally lost at to what a 'shocking engine' could mean on an electric motorcycle other than giving you an electrical shock when you touch the motor. (It has no engine.)
What are you speaking of?

Yes it is. I ordered it from a Zero dealership via phone and had it a week later.

My brand new FX does that after five days on the charger. Always has. When I go into the shop I unplug the cord and plug it back in. No problems. I do think it is a GREAT idea to re-plug it the night before a ride to be sure of a 100% charge.

To the administrator...As it appears that very few visit the 'Other Electric Motorcycles' page...what are the chances of the EM 5.7 getting its own spot?

It is now 2016 and I just took possession of a new 2015 EM 5.7. Any new comments in the last five years?

Thank you to all! I just installed the MX seat on my '16 FX with no problems whatsoever. With the seat being just a little narrower it seems to have not affected seat height. I still just barely touch the ground! It sure feels nice being able to move around while trail riding.

My 2016 FX has 'tamper resistant' fasteners on the throttle housing. What's up with that?

I don't believe you can use a plug in a tire after it has sealant inside it. The rubber must be clean and dry for the glue to adhere.

I like that! If your seat mounts with the side cover bolts (behind the MX), it just may fit. Thanks!

Is there a motocross type seat available for the FX? I really don't like the 'bucket seat' that it comes with. I'm looking for something flatter, like a real moto seat.

If it is the same as a '16 FX I think you'll find that the kickstand has a little round magnet in it and it sits directly adjacent to the switch when the stand is up. After removing the switch from it's two screws and still dangling from its wires, I found a small, strong magnet and taped it to the switch. Then stuffed the wires, switch and all, under the rubber cover to the front. Works great and I didn't destroy anything!
