If you are interested at all, I have a 2010 DS with a trade in value for a 2014 DS of $5000. I would split it with you, though it's with me in Colorado. I bought a 2014 DS demo before they came out with the trade in program, and I absolutely love it!

Thanks for the info!  I'm also curious about how they could discount them so much,  and especially with giving the $5k trade in value.  I wonder if they are somehow using Zero's trade in program with their in stock units. ..

I called the place in Boise too,  but it looks like Chris beat me to it!  Chris, did you use a trade in too?  I have a dead 2010 DS that i was going to see if they'd take,  but i don't know if they were using the Zero trade in thing or not. If not, it doesn't seem likely that they would take one that is not  functional. Anyway, if anyone knows of a similar deal at another dealer somewhere, please let me know!

is it only for those that bought the bikes new? or will even resold bikes be eligible? How much were the 2014's new?[/quote]

I don't see any language in the offer limiting the deal to the original purchaser.

2014 S/DS ZF8.5 $13k
2014 S/DS ZF11.4 $15k
2014 SR ZF11.4 $17k

Add $2500 for the Power Tank.

If the rebates are off of MSRP then I think the deal is not quite as good; the 2015s have significant upgrades and are a little cheaper, and without the subsidy a new 2014 would sell for significantly below MSRP. (Look at Brammo's continued fire sale to clear out 2014 inventory as an example).

I agree with this.   I was excited about the deal when I first heard about it, as I have a non-working 2010 DS (in addition to ademo 2014). However, my dealer did say that the only way to use the rebate is to buy a new 2014 at the MSRP. When you consider that the 2015's cost $1000 less, have abs and better forks, and better range, that eats into the $5,000 pretty significantly. I think it is more of Zero's way of getting those older bikes off the street, and trying to sell a lot of 2014 inventory that they would otherwise have to discount as much or more than they are doing with this offer.

Selling my non-working 2010 DS, located in Colorado. With the new Zero trade-in pro gram,  this will qualify for $5000 towards any new 2014 model, excluding the FX. I am looking to get $2,500 for it, which would mean that you could get $2500 dollars off of a new 2014.

According to my dealer, they will only take a trade in on the MSRP of the 2014 models, which as you know are a thousand dollars more than the 2015 models. He says that the FX is not included either. That makes the deal a fair amount less attractive, as you can take $1000 off the trade in value right away. He says that the demo models are definitely not included either. Let me know if anyone else gets any different information, as he was only reading off the memo that Zero sent.

Wow,  that sucks!  Were the X's boot street legal?  The new ones are,  right?

Has anyone found out if demos are included or not?

Ok,  I'm confused.  I thought all tax incentives for electric motorcycles ended a few years back.  Does the 2014 demo i just bought entitle me to a tax rebate this year?

Or, we could use my dead 2010 as a trade in,  and you'd have 2 great bikes!  I JUST bought that 2014 demo 2 weeks ago, before they announced this program.  If only i had known.  But having ridden the 2010 for a little while and now riding the 2014, i can say it was worth it for me. ..

Yes, that's exactly what I'm wondering. ..
