Hello I own a 2015 Zero FX. When I bought the FX the worst reported mileage (hard sport mode ridding) from Zero was 70 miles combined. I have never been able to get more than 30 miles out of it and have ran out of battery power twice. I'm 205 lbs and like to ride aggressive. I love the bike but 30 miles doesn't get me far. I'm looking into upgrading to a DSR or maybe the SR depending on which one I like best after a test ride. I'm more of a sport rider and not interested in the added weight of the power tank accessary. Zero has drastically lowered the mileage estimates on the newer bikes. The worst mileage reported is at 70 miles for the DSR and 81 for the SR. I'm concerned if I buy the DSR I will only get 50 miles out of it on a full charge. I only ride in sport mode and don't use a motorcycle for commuting. Are there any DSR owners out there who can comment on the mileage in sport mode? I keeping positive that I don't have to buy a gas powered motorcycle.

Mr. Dude you are correct. I really wanted the FXS just for the IPM motor, but I got a killer deal on a demo 2015 FX. Plus I ride in the dirt and didn't need 17" wheels.

I just purchased a demo 2015 FX. I have been riding motocross bikes for over 20 yrs. The biggest issue I have is the limited range and power reduction when the motor gets hot but the fun factor and being very quite make it a blast to ride. Especially in areas where noise is an issue. Being able to ride it fast around you're home is a huge plus. The KTM 500 is a better overall dirt bike, but the FX is better on the street plus you won't piss off the neighbors.

Are you listening Zero?? People want the FX model with the IPM motor. It seams that it would be easier for you guys in manufacturing to deal with one platform. Just change wheels and the front fork for the FSX.

I have also been waiting for the new IPM motor on the 2016 FX. Unfortunately I have confirmed that it is only available on the new FXS. This new motor has greater thermal capabilities and will not overheat when ridden aggressively. I wanted the new motor for the FX model because I would like to spend some time riding off-road. It doesn't make sense that zero is offering two different motors for basically the same Bike model.

If you plan on riding mostly in the street the FXS is a great option. The 17 inch wheels are much better for the street and yes the bike will still wheelie. Super Moto bikes are really fun to ride. Front suspension has also been lowered by 1.6 inches on the FSX model. Off-road riding on the FSX will be limited. I'm going to wait it out till mid 2016 to see if Zero will stop production of their old FX motor design. Maybe the new FSX motor will start showing up in late 2016 FX models.

Wow that really sucks. Please keep us posted on how Zero handles this issue. I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new 2015 FX, but I'm going to wait and see how Zero responds. I'm surprised they did'nt hand deliver a new FX to your doorstep after 2 major issues with their products???

I'm new to the forum and very new to E-bikes. Just needed some advise and feedback. I'm over 6 feet 3 inches and weigh around 215 lbs. I test rode the 2015 SR and FX back to back and loved both. The SR feels more planted and solid on the street than the FX. It was also faster once rolling. From a dead stop they were pretty close. I have a motocross background which is why I liked the FX riding position, looks, seat height and handlebars . The FX is also very easy to lift the front end and I can take it in the dirt. Range is not an issue with either bike. If I went with the FX ridding would be 80% street and 20% dirt. My gut tells me to go with the SR because I love the massive torque. The SR has so much torque it's addictive. I liked it better than any ICE street bike I've ridden to date. I know these bikes are different FX enduro and SR pure street bike only. Any feedback would be appreiated.
