I wanted to inform (and invite) all of you to the Electric Night Ride (ENR) in Stuttgart, Germany.

When: In the wee morning (4:30 am) on 7th of July 2019
Where: Stuttgart, Germany. We will meet at the Fernsehturm (first TV tower in the world).
What: It's a ride in the night and into the sun :-)

Additional information is available here:
https://www.facebook.com/events/258253041756185/

I created a little website for people without Facebook:
http://electricnightride.eu/en/whats-the-enr

The website will be updated with additional information (soon).
And the Facebook event is updated with news as soon as we get them, too.

And I will try to answer any questions you might have :-)

I just wanted to share some of my pictures I took at this year's Electric Night Ride in Paris.

We had visitors from all over the world, e.g. U.S. and Vietnam. Most Motorcycles were Zeros, but we also had Vectrix, Energica , Johammer and a few very special participants.

I want for the bikes to be more reliable.
A warranty that covers everything (except for usual maintenance and accidents, of course) within the first 5 years (or 100.000 miles) would make people a lot more optimistic about its longevity.

I want the shops to be able to quickly fix any problems.
So a better repair/workshop manual, backoffice software and reduced shipping times (in EU) would go a long way.

They advertise the Zeros as being basically maintenance free. Now they have to put the money where their mouth is.
This year I had repair costs of about 2500 EUR already, and I expect another 2000 EUR in the second half of 2018. (axle, motor, MBB & BMS)

That's for a MY2014 - so Zero should "prove" that the newer bikes are actually as robust as they want them to be.

Hmm...

650 km in 16 hours (that's > 400 miles) - that was a ride from Stuttgart to Dille (and back again)
I posted in my (German) blog about this trip: http://www.christian-jog.de/2016/03/10/dille

My record was >1000 km (620 mi) in 32 hours, although I did sleep for about 5 hours on this trip. It was part of the "king's stage" of the Wave 2015. See morimaxx' post.
He is also the one who is 'responsible' for me getting the Zero in the first place :-)
http://www.christian-jog.de/2015/06/27/wave-trophy-2015-die-koenigsetappe

I also document my route plans in this Google spreadsheet for you to browse:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HlLLxe9cMLtkm6aYvN6HpyRV5S93IpLejMkA-th5aq8/edit?usp=sharing

This is how you feel after riding 300 miles without a good night's rest before your start ;-)

Next record would be the Iron Butt - but I'd need the DigiNow charger for that, @Brandon ;-)

So the list goes on:

Brandon Nozaki Miller

Electric Terry

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Log file parser utility
« on: September 19, 2015, 11:07:38 AM »
Hi Kim,

I added some of my logs to this post.

I was unable to parse them (used python 3.5). Maybe you can look into this.

Quote
>python zero_log_parser.py 538SM5Z36ECG03915_MBB_2014-10-13.bin
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "zero_log_parser.py", line 81, in <module>
    parse_log(log_file, output_file)
  File "zero_log_parser.py", line 63, in parse_log
    if ord(b) == ENTRY_DELIMITER:
TypeError: ord() expected string of length 1, but int found

Thanks for your effort. Hopefully one day we can set this up as a web service - that would be perfect.
