Usually motorcycles and cars are heavily taxed in Norway, but for electric there are no taxes.

Just got an email from my dealer. Who tells me the cheif european technician for Zero says it's ok to change the gear. I can even order my new 2015 SR delivered with the higher torque gearing from the dealer.

I asked about details, I hope he comes back with more.

I've never been able to get the front wheel off the ground on the Zero SR. I was thinking that a high gear torque would aid that. Of course the Zero already has a great amount of torque, but it also has a top speed way higher than I ever want to use. So to me this mod makes a lot of sense.

I would love to encourage someone who's up for it to give it a go.

krash7172 and biolife - you obviously are curious to how this would work. I say just do the mod, test it. Film it. If you don't like it (which I doubt), just put the stock gear back. And user dgh853, you're the track racing guy on the forum, you're curious and great at doing mods.

I would do it myself but it's winter here with snow - and my 2015 haven't arrived yet.

Does anyone know if it's possible, or if it would even work?

I would glady sacrifice some top speed for increased acceleration. Is it possible?

I see that Zero offer this for the S and DS (See link here ). But nothing for the SR at all, not to mention the SR 2015 :-/ ?

• Have you tried the 2014 SR? I think the rear brake is bit weak. Is the rear break on the SR 2015 any better?
• Is the storage compartment the same as the 2014?

Background:
I ride to work every day in rush hour. Traffic is often so slow that I drive between cars on the dotted line between two lanes of traffic going the same direction. Until now I've ridden a combustion engine that I could trottle up to alert cars that I'm trying to pass them and they kindly make some space for me. (This is common practice, both legally and culturally here in Norway).

Some times using the trottle doesn't work, so I blink the headlight. Often the car driver in front of me doesn't notice me still, and I have to stay back until the coast is clear.

When riding an electric motorcycle, the problem is even bigger because of the lack of sound. Using the horn to get peoples attention is to me way to intrusive and rude. So I'm thinking of wiring up a second button I can hit to engage a more friendly sound that gets the close cars attention that I kindly would like to pass you please.

The question:
Do you guys have a suggestion to what kind of sound this could be?

None of these seem fitting to me. The sound should be something that even if you've never heard it in traffic before, it gets your attention, without being annoying. It would be really cool if it helped showcase the personality of the bike.
