Hello All,

Time to clear out the remainder of my parts from my R6. Need some cash to find a battery and other bits for my 300ZX conversion.  Located in Columbus OH.

The bits. All plus shipping
-Sevcon Size4 heatsink - $30
-Sevcon Size6 w/ domino throttle - $500 (sin/cos compatible)
-Cycle Analogger with GPS - $70
-Sevcon Clearview display - $250
-Vicor 66-150V to 12V DC/DC 150W w/ busmod - $60
-IXXAT CAN programmer - $300
-Eaton APR48G 1.8kW PSU - programmable voltage/current. Wired in series right now. $110 each
-Modified Zero ZF75-7 SM motor. 2014 model year.  $1000

This motor has been opened up and the parallel phase wires have been split and brought out as 6 leads.  Operates normally as a 3 phase motor with both A phases wired to the same controller phase. That’s how I’ve been using it.  It can also operate as a dual 3 phase motor with two controllers in a master/slave arrangement. For example 1 Sevcon size6 lets you have 660A to the motor, but two size4

4AWG copper wire was used for each lead and a high power automated crimper was used. Double insulation was used and the motor was thourghly cleaned out before reassembly.  Resealed with quality silicone type sealing as originally used on the motor.  Motor has been operating for 100s of miles with zero issues. Plan was dual size4 or size6 and passive oil cooling, but I never got around to it.  More than capable motor and rare to find for sale. Never got thermal cutback on my lightweight R6.

Example here.

PM me with interest.
Thanks
Kyle

Buy Sell Trade / FS: 13x 2012 Leaf Modules 50AH
« on: January 31, 2018, 08:11:59 PM »
Hello All, starting the part out process of my electric R6. I have 13 Leaf modules from a 2012 car. They have about 300 total cycles on them (200 by me). They have been great, staying well balanced and delivering good power. I did a range test this summer and got about 52AH out of the pack so I’m calling them 50Ah capacity. I still can pull 600A+ from them easily.

Always charged them to 4.15-4.18V. Never charged them below freezing and never rode the bike below about 40degF. I can include a few original busbars and the aluminum busbars I currently use.

I’m asking $800 for the pack. Willing to breakdown and ship. Can meet up to 2hrs away from Columbus, OH as well. PM me with interest.

These are great for any conversion

Price lowered. Motivated to sell. Probably going to part it out in a few weeks if I can’t sell the whole thing.

Thank you sir.  Currently no BMS.
Pack is manually top balanced using a PL8 balance charger.  I’ve done that twice, but wasn’t really needed the second time.  Undercharging to 108.3V (4.165V/cell) keeps me good on the top end and the controller power limits at the bottom. I’ve only hit the lower voltage/power limit about 5 times in regular use.  I plan to rebalance the battery before selling.

Also the bike was original setup for 28s, but I decided to experiment with opening one of the modules and it didn’t go so well so I just reset everything for 26s

The new Leaf modules should also be a drop in replacement. The 82Ah modules would drop right in, give you 8kWh and only add about 15-20lbs

Doctorbass, you probably want to take a look at my recent post. I'm honestly surprised that you as an expert with tons of experience and a huge variety of charger builds didn't have the idea to just order those chargers yourself in China. Would have saved you at least 2000$. What did you expect to be so special about the DigiNows?

I wanted to ignore this and don’t want to derail this thread, but I think you should spend a little more time learning from these experts before insinuating that Doc or Diginow are making mistakes or doing something wrong.  They both have done great things for this and other online communities.

Thanks for putting these efficiency numbers together guys. It’s always nice to see real world data!

Good luck!  Hopefully everything works out for ya. Sounds like you know what you’re getting into.  Didn’t mean to be too harsh, you logic is more than sound.  I’ve considered the same myself.  Do keep us updated

I have a strong interest in a bike like that at $3-4k, but $7k is way too steep as mentioned.  Especially considering you do not know if anything on the bike functions.  I wouldn’t risk $7k for that.

Of course if things are undamaged and functional underneath then there’s some value there.

This is a really cool machine. Ive pulled 62kW indicated on a Cycle Analyst with a maxed out Size6 controller.  Be curious what you pull at 100%

Buckeye currents transponder had issues. They finished with a time of 11:16 putting them in 3rd among the electrics and making Rob the second fastest rookie...course was wet and dirty at the top due to melting snow from what I heard. This slowed the first half hour of competitors down

Buy Sell Trade / Power supply and sevcon used parts
« on: April 17, 2016, 08:42:04 PM »
Hey All,

Got some stuff to clear out. Hasn't seen much use so time to get rid of it.

For parts only - sevcon size4 - contactor output shorted and blew some black smoke. Hate to just throw it out. FREE (buyer pays shipping)

Sevcon Size4 heat sink - $50 - pretty it's the same one used on the zero S bike

Meanwell S-350 clones - 48V 8A power supplies. I used them as a battery charger setup at one point. All working. - $20 each plus shipping-QTY 3

Meanwell HLG320H 54A - good shape, QTY 3, use these as chargers too. All working well.  $75 each plus shipping.

I'm always willing to hear offers. Thanks Kyle

Electric Motorcycle News / Re: new motor tech

Yea it basically looks like they slipped a copper bar into the slot to make good contact with the winding all the way to the middle of the slot. Then they have a simple cooling loop on the end of the motor.  I love the concept.

Less pressure in the cooling system so higher flow rates could be possible. That coupled with the higher conductivity of the copper bars could give them quite a bit higher continuous power. I bet twice that of one with most liquid cooling. The conductivity may even be good enough to improve the peak power.

Would be cool to see a more detailed data sheet.

Buy Sell Trade / Re: Chargers EATON 1800W programmable
« on: January 15, 2016, 06:19:08 PM »
I have access to both 110V and 220V outlets. But yes power would be less on 110V outlet.

I have 28s Nissan Leaf pack. I charge to 116.5V (4.16V/cell).

Are these units already modified with the USB programmer?  If not is it just soldering the programmer and using the software? Or is there additional hardware changes

Im in Florida, USA.  Thanks for picture.  Do you know of anyone using these PSU/chargers onboard a vehicle?  I'm a little concerned with vibration tolerance.

This would be a great option for a trackside quick charger
