Looks like it's a rubber cover. Not clear if it is meant to open.

Can someone tell me what's happened to the fake tank? Is is still a zippered compartment or a waterproof lockable cover?

Where I live I would feel more comfortable having an alarm. I've had Scorpio alarms with a perimeter sensor on all of my motorcycles and would want to install it on a Zero as well. Is there really no way to get a continuous 12V current while the bike is off??

Thanks for the contact info and reliability feedback.
Have you ridden an SR by any chance? Just wondering how it compares to the S. I am used to the plentiful torque and 0-60 in 3.5 sec with my bmw f800st and would want comparable performance in a Zero. Not that I can afford an SR anyway.
It terms of "farkling" the bike - since there is no typical 12V motorcycle battery, how do you connect a motorcycle alarm, gps and Gerbing connecting harness for those cold days? A 12v accessory socket won't solve that.

That's great to hear you've put so many miles on your Zero. Any problems so far? Which model do you own?
Are you aware of any demo rides to be offered in North East any time soon by any chance?

How was/is your experience with Carbon Negative, and the bike itself?

Since there are no Zero dealers in CT I was wondering if someone has bought his/her Zero elsewhere and registered it in CT.
