Buy Sell Trade / Re: FX rear luggage rack - $45
« on: December 29, 2015, 10:37:04 AM »
price drop

I'm holding on to the top case and plate to use on another bike for now.

Still selling the FX rack.

I'm interested in those soft bags. Did the tears go all the way through the material and how long are they?

One is 5" and the other is 4". They don't go all the way through, just to the plastic inserts that help the bags maintain their shape.
I'm pretty confident it'll hold up :)

Where are you located?

Oops. I'm in Los Angeles. Had it in the post before, but accidentally removed when I edited it.

Looking to sell the XU now to get something with more range.

Buy Sell Trade / WTS: 2013 Zero XU 2.8 - $4500 [SOLD]
« on: June 22, 2015, 09:21:52 PM »
Bought a new bike, so definitely looking to sell the XU now. Located in Los Angeles. asking $5000 $4500
- 7,700 miles
- New Pirelli tires. Less than 200 miles on both.
- Replaced the red fairings/fenders with all new black plastics.
- Factory warranty is still good until November.
- I know where you can get a second battery if you need it.

ORIGINAL POST: This might be a long shot, but I'm looking for a second battery pack for my 2013 XU. If anyone has an extra, or knows of someone who does, please let me know. Even if it has less than full capacity, I'm just looking to add a few extra miles to my range. Thanks!

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Blinkers not working
« on: May 22, 2015, 12:19:25 AM »
Hi guys, I wanted to give a quick update. I found the flasher, located behind the left fairing on the FX/XU.

I tried bypassing it by removing it and jumping the pins, and also tried attaching a generic 12v flasher, but neither worked. I finally brought it to the dealer yesterday, and they found that the flasher works, but there was no continuity between the flasher and the switch at the handlebar controls. So a new wiring harness is on order.

While I wait for the part to arrive, I did a temporary fix by running some wire from the flasher and splicing it into left hand controls connector of the wiring harness. (photos attached)

While digging around, I also found my headlight wires were starting to get chewed up by a zip tie keeping the wires organized. All the zip ties around the bike seemed a little tight, so it wouldn't surprise me if disconnect inside the harness was caused by a pinch at a zip tie. I'm going to go around the bike, re-zipping all the wires a little more loosely.

I don't have an S, but I bought a 2013 XU at 6,920 miles, and the rear was squared off, wear bars almost completely gone in the center. The front had maybe 50% tread left, but looked dry and cracking from sun exposure.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I can take it to the dealer under warranty if I can't figure it out, but I like fixing things myself and would like to save a trip if possible.

I haven't gotten the bike wet. The previous owner might have washed it before selling it to me, but that was back in the beginning of February. Can someone help me identify relay on the bike? where it's located, what it looks like, how many pins?

The turn signals on my 2013 XU stopped working a few days ago. The thumb switch feels normal. High beam and horn still work. The four fuses inside the box seem fine. The brake light works, just not the front or rear blinkers. The green indicator lights on the dash don't light up when I signal either. Maybe it's the blinker relay? (Can someone point it out to me?)
