The 2016 line up has been announced and there are definitely improvements/enhancements to be excited about . However for someone like me who plans to hang on to their purchase(2014 S with Power Tank) for a few more years instead of upgrading to the newer  models,  are there any options for obtaining extended warranty coverage ?

I believe, the 2014 models came with 2 years of warranty. In the 18 months that I have had  my motorcycle, I had to leave it to the tender mercies of my dealership for a total of 6 weeks (twice , for approx. 3 weeks each time). And each time, I am sure the technicians at the dealership spent quite a few hours on the phone with Zero trying to resolve the issues. Since it was under warranty, I did not hay to pay a penny. Otherwise , I am certain, it would have added up to hundreds of dollars each time.

As my motorcycle reaches the end of the warranty period (Apr 2016), I am concerned about the cost of future repairs. I have not had any issues these past few months and I am hoping that all the ghosts in the system have been exorcised and that I will not be needing such significant repairs again.  I would love to know what the other member on the forum are doing for extended support , alternate options etc.,.

I am only 5'3 the bike is a little heavy for me. My questions are has anyone lowered their Zero bikes, and if so how low can it go?

You might want to sit on the bike and take it for an extended ride in stop-and-go traffic so you get a feel for the height of the bike.
At 5'5/ 5'6, I can touch the ground with both feet - not quite completely flat, but solid enough to be well balanced. That being said, I have always wanted a lower seat, just to feel a little more safe/in-control.

I would consider upgrading to a 2016 model from my current 2014 S , if these 2 were addressed. At 5ft 6'', a lower seat is definitely something I could do with.

I find the 2014 S power and charging time adequate for my use (80 mile commute to work and back each day) , although it never hurts to get higher range and shorter charging times. 

I purchased my 2014 S with power tank in May-2014. I have used it to commute to work and accumulated 5,700 miles in these past 5 months with no issues other than what has now unfortunately become the common complaint - "squeaky rear wheel/brakes at low speed". I did not make any special effort to get that addressed since my dealer is 100 miles away, figured, I would just grin and bear it since it was not hindering my commute.

2 weeks ago - on Mon 22nd Sept, as I was getting ready to leave to work on my trusted work horse, it just would not move forward! The battery was 100% charged, it booted up perfectly fine, the head lights, turn signal , horn - all electrical items worked fine,  everything worked great, except for the motor! When I rocked/moved the bike forward and backward, the motor would engage and would whirr as though it was energized and ready to go (normal behavior). And yes, the kick stand was up , the charge chord was not connected to the motorcycle and the kill switch was off. 
I figured, it may be related to some moisture that may have somehow worked its way into the system( we have had heavy rains almost daily and the motorcycle is parked outside with no protection) and decided to give it a few days in the sun to see it behaved better. A few days rest turned into 2 weeks of "drying" under the Florida sun and today, it still will not move!

I contacted the dealer who requested that I send them the logs using the mobile app which I just did. I am waiting to hear back from them.

So, while I wait, any advise on how to get this fixed without having to transport my motorcycle 100 miles to the dealership?  Any diagnostic next steps ?

Congratulations! Enjoy your new vehicle. I bought my "S" 3 weeks ago and rode home in rain as well.

Not sure if you have already done so, but do register your location on this web-site http://www.evfr.net. You never know, you might find out that a neighbor down the street has one of these and you  just did not know about it because you never heard it!

I visited the shop yesterday and the salesman told me that Mission Motorcycles just passed Hollywood Electric as the biggest Zero selling dealer in the world (at least for that day - they just sold one more bike than Harlan so far this year).

Off topic here..... How many 2014 Zero's have been sold thus far in total. Any guesstimates ? How many are projected to be sold by end of year and how does it compare to Brammo sales. Does anyone have any insight into this ? Just curious about the volumes....

Add me to the list! My brand new 2014 S 11.4 with power tank has the same issue. Hopefully it will go away after a few hundred miles.
