BamBam, which screen did you ultimately opt for?  Review?

I'm in the same situation as you: 2016 FXS which I love and use for commuting across the SF Bay Bridge.  It's a short/manageable commute but I'm wondering if a screen would help even just a little bit with the high-speed wind buffeting.  Thanks...

Oh, right - sorry NoiseBoy.  Disregard that classic Yank geography faux pas...  In which case I haven't done any work on your Jersey but I did spend a rather epic surf weekend there a few years back.  The swells were second only to the beer flowing at Watersplash!

Thanks Noiseboy.  I'm definitely more "business-oriented" than most of the techies on these boards so I'm learning a ton more than I'm returning.  I studied computer science in undergrad but haven't written a line of code in decades...

Ha!  Jersey is a great place.  Habitat is doing a ton of work there in various counties supporting the Sandy cleanup efforts.  Great people, both homeowners and volunteers!

As a newb I enjoyed reading this string  - gave me context on who was answering my other post.  As a 30-year rider of anything with 2 wheels I continue to tell people that electric bike riders are the most helpful and collaborative bunch on the internet...

Thanks to all for the feedback.  I think it's worth the risk to try it out.  At this point I'll try anything to not have to sit in August Atlanta traffic with a 1 liter ICE blowing heat up my full leather gear!

Hi all,  I've been a frequent lurker on these boards for 2+ yrs, appreciating the exchange of information between intelligent helpful riders, but I haven't posted anything until now.  I have ~3K miles on my 2012 DS and am very happy with it but for work I'll soon need to move to a high rise apartment building for the next year which includes a parking space but with no electrical outlet.  So...

Q: Will I do irreparable damage to the bike/battery/system if I only charge it infrequently when it gets near depleted?

Context:  I will have a very short commute - about a mile - and everything I need will be within a few miles (very urban living in midtown Atlanta)  It's the perfect bike for this urban existence so I'd prefer not to go back to an ICE bike if I don't have to.  I have places I can charge it when needed, but plugging it in constantly when not in use (per the manual's instructions) isn't an option.
