My Story.........................................I had a 2009 Zero X like yours that I rode for a year before I sold it. I had to replace the original battery with a newer one after it failed to recharge.
This Bike was purchased from an auction and Zero would only offer me a new battery for a cost of $1500.00. The new battery worked well for about a year and then began to give me issues. Note: I had always kept the battery on the charger when not in use and plugged back in after each ride.
Zero did cover the repairs (Under Warranty) to my new battery after it would only charge to 90%. Tech support figured a dead or weak cell was causing the charger not to reach 100% and could repair it. Shortly after that I ended up selling the bike on Ebay.
I did enjoy riding the bike on tight single track here in Pennsylvania.
Before buying a replacement pack for 1/2 price from Zero I though about rebuilding the old one. My problem was finding a resource to provide me with loose cells.
