I'm not sure if it's relevant but, Here's my 2 cents anyway. I have spent a lot of years as a mechanic. I fully understand the "right tool for the job" thing. However, I also spent 7 years as an F-16 crew chief in the USAF. So, I am also familiar with the "do more with less" mentality. You should have seen the crappy tools we used to fix multi-million dollar fighter jets. It wasn't pretty. Still, neither me or my crew ever lost a jet. It is possible to make up for the lack of a proper tool by using some skill and patience. Of course there some things I would have done differently than in the video but, I have to admire the balls it took to tackle such a potentially expensive job. That was some impressive back yard mechanic work. Good job!

I'd be waiting for the 2016 DS-R. I'll be selling the Buell as soon as one of those rolls off the floor.

Here's something interesting. The second they came out with the SR, I wondered when we would see the DS version. Looks like the wait is over!

First post! I've been stalking here for a while. Here's my 2 cents... If you are flush with cash and can afford an SR as your first bike, GO FOR IT! You will probably be able to afford to replace bent and broken pieces when you dump it. If you are going to be financing this bike for 10 years and making minimum payments, you may want to consider going the inexpensive ICE bike route and waiting. I hear big changes are coming with the 2016's. It could be beneficial to wait and see.

Hey all! I currently have a 2000 Buell M2 Cyclone. I love it and it is the best bike I have ever owned (aside from having to deal with Harley dealer mechanics who don't understand anything that isn't a cruiser) but, in 2011 I test rode a Zero DS at a local Bay Area shop and it changed my life. I always swore I would never sell the Buell But, I'm going to the first chance I get so I can get a 2014 Zero S! I cant wait to see what they have coming this year!
