Electric Motorcycle Forum is live!
I have had a couple of trikes over the years, it would be awesome to have an EV
Every blessing to you all..
Hey BrianWe are life long Motorcyclists currently ride a 2013 Suzuki 650 V-Strom which is a great bike for it's economy and versatility. We do around 30K Kms per year each with commuting and social riding...so the Zero...zero gas option is something we are really keen to embrace!!![]()
Good luck with the buying process. In the USA, I have a convenient dealer so that played into the buying decision. I must say that as a fellow new-V-Strom owner (2012), the DS is a great complement, and I now more or less use the V-Strom only when I need to go out of town. The V-Strom now feels large and luxurious compared to the more spartan and spritely Zero.![]()
I still make sure that the Zero has hard cases for grocery runs and the like, and have taken my partner for city rides. For passengers, I recommend the top case and rack, although it sounds like your partner would not put up with that and must have her own ride, which is excellent.

Lots of charging points about her "office" so all is well with charging. Welcome to the club Ned. It will be interesting to hear how your import works out. I like to think that local authorities will bend the rules the little and fast track zero emission vehicles like the Zero, as they did over here in Jersey.Thank you NoiseBoy
Is there much charging infrastructure in NZ?
A great club to be a part of. I will keep everyone updated with the process. Still waiting for some feedback from this side.
It is definitely easier this side than yours that is for sure!
I am hoping someone will pick up a dealership soon though? Triumph Aus/NZ seem to like picking up all the odds and ends of motorcycling so maybe there is an in there!
Keep safe mate.
Nice to see the cyber-community meeting in person! Hope to be able to over this end of the world some time.

And as for the Noodling..good skills and hey...a guy needs a hobby eh??!!
