I race electric R/C vehicles and the "booster kit" sounds like a mechanical advance system to give the motor short bursts of more rpm (kind of like a NOS button on their gas powered counterparts).  Using it for extended periods would cause excess heat in the motor and drastically reduced battery runtimes.

Great video. Great road.

Interesting how the motor moves when it spools up.
skadamo, the motor moving in the video is a mechanical "boost" system (probably a timing advance of some sort) which allows momentary bursts of speed taking the Quantya from about 50mph to 68mph (111kph) according to Dario of Quantya USA.  Very cool stuff!

Zero is coming out with a Dual Sport version of the S.  Not sure when, but it will have the same frame, batts and motor as the S and also be street legal.  Might be worth the wait.  Also in about a months time they are coming out with another variation of the X.  It will be the MX version with beefier components and will incorporate the use of a better fork designed by FOX.

Quantya Forum / Any changes planned

Does anyone know if Quantya is planning on making any revisions to their line-up of E Motos?  We all know Zero came up with a bunch of new stuff for their '09 model and I'm just wondering if Quantya will do the same....

Looking to buy one of these in the near future.  Which would you get and WHY?
I am a former Motorcycle Road Racer and have been racing Mountainbikes and Cyclocross for the last ten years.  I plan on riding it mainly on singletrack with a few short commutes on road as well.

Anymore news on this bike?  Is the price that is quoted for the lead acid or the lipo version?  For the lipo version which is limited to 45kph, can it be easily modded to improve the speed to 60kph?
