Get the white reflective rim tape. Makes the bike much more noticeable at night from the sides.

Got the plates (note Avatar) that I ordered. Took in the Certificate of Title and got the personalized plates.

Over 300 miles on mine. Riding it to work tomorrow. Rode it to work Monday too.  I have had at least four motorcycles, this is my fifth. The motor is set up from the factory to act like a 250cc engine. It actually seems faster because of the non shift factor. Kind of slow at the start and then it seems to accelerate faster.
I have the faux-suede seat. It feels very nice and I doubt it would heat up from being out in the sun like a standard black seat (it is light gray). Only complaint I have heard is that the upgrade seat takes awhile to dry out if it gets wet. Mine has never been wet - yet.

After another 2 hours waiting, I found out it can take 4-5 months to get registrations done. I got another temp. registration good through the end of April. But it still is a bureaucracy!

I pulled up at 3:45 this afternoon to the local DMV. The line was a half hour wait - just to get in the door. Got back in my car and went home. Try again tomorrow!

I sent an e-mail to a Mark Williams at the CARB in Sacramento last Friday. No response yet, but he knows of the emission standards sticker problem. I won't be able to get to the DMV till Tuesday. I better get used to saying "Can I speak to your supervisor, please?" ;) I am hoping they can at least get me an extension on the temp. registration. I had an idea to e-mail Jay Leno about this if the DMV thing doesn't work out. He has "5 of 30" and may have connections. Then the local TV stations would just love a "David vs. Goliath" story. ::)

Not done yet! The temporary registration expires on Sunday. I called the 800 number for the DMV. After waiting only 15 minutes, I found out that the process had been suspended for "technical compliance". I will have to go to the local DMV yet again to try and resolve this.
What I need is someone in California who already got their plates for their Enertia. I could give the DMV that bikes VIN number (I really only need the last three numbers - the rest is the same) to show them that the bike has already been registered somewhere else in the state.
Love the bike.
Hate bureaucracy!

Nathan is feeling much better. Actually out of his wheelchair - some. Planning on "driving out the doors of the hospital on an ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE". He is looking for work as a crash-test dummy. Doesn't blame the 20 something year old who hit him. Seems to be back to his normal self - according to his friends.

I joined FB just to follow his progress.

Found out just now that he is conscious and even said "Hi" to his mom. That is good news. Go Nathan!

Nathan was making a 3800 mile drive on his new Enertia motorcycle. He had purchased the bike at the Portland Best Buy and was chronicling his ride home to Atlanta. http://www.wednesdaynightdrinkingclub.com/blogs/greasyrider/index.php/2009/11/hey-baby-what-winks-has-3100-watts-between-its-legs/
Friday night he got hit by a car. He was flown to Portland where he is unconscious, has blood on his brain, a broken hand and a swollen arm. He has family with him for support.
