Pics and Vids / Re: Pimped out Zero-S electric street bike!

Here is an updated pic

Here are a few updated pics with the round headlight and mirrors removed from an upward position to a downward position.  This bike is mostly used for shows and running around town so the mirrors are not that functional but you get the idea.

KTM announced 2010 and then pushed it out (the "big guys" push back product roll-outs too).......if you take a look at many companies you would consider "Big Guys" they all have issues with NEW PRODUCT LAUNCHES.  Kawasaki's first few years of Jet Ski, those were crude prototypes vs. the quality boats they build today.  Honda, Yamaha etc etc.  iPhone, Windows Vista, GM, Toyota, Marcedes etc etc all have had recalls and they still do today!!  With the $ millions $ the "big guys" have, they still cannot deliver a quality electric vehicle....

Mini Cooper launched the Lithium ion mini with 500 limited leases.  Suprise suprise, they are having big issues....

Come on guys.....what is your point in posting all the negativity?  Zero is all of about 30 employees doing something no one else is doing or has done....its a huge undertaking and things will go wrong.  It is through a network of GOOD people and GOOD feedback that Zero will solve the minor issues and get better and better at what they are doing.  Its called evolution if anyone has heard of that before?

My two cents

BTW - all those issues posted by gasorelectric sounds like the 2008 Zero X which was the very first bike Zero delivered to customers.  A year later they have 4 different bikes to choose from.  Where will Zero be in another 2 yrs?  A lot better is my guess.  And when has Zero ever refused to fix a faulty part?

They may not be perfect but they stand  behind their faulty parts!

I am not on with Carson but I think Harlan (Hollywood Electrics) is?  I let Harlan use my bike for the show.

General Discussion / Zero S on the Carson Daly Show Tonight
« on: November 17, 2009, 11:59:44 PM »
With my IR in Hollywood I got my Zero S on the Carson Daly Show airing tonight after the Jimmy Kimmel Show on NBC.  He rides it on the show along with some stuff on the GPR-S.  For those in the So Cal area, record it or watch it, it comes on at 1:30am.

I have 4 Zero X, 2 MX and 1 S and I have run all of them in some pretty gnarly terrain and have had no issues.  My S has over 1,500 miles and still no service needed.  Haven t even adjusted the chain.  All the Zero X bikes have been killer as well.  I rode the Quantya, Brammo and Electric Motorsports GPR-S and yes, they all have their own pros and cons but overall, the Zero has my vote. (obviously)

One thing to consider with Zero vs. Quantya is the battery pack, Warranty and Customer Service.  The Zero battery is modular and comes out relatively quick to replace with a fully charged one and you keep on riding.  You can also do a quick charge in 45 mins of the Zero battery pack.  The Quantya does not have a modular battery and once the charge is done so is the whole bike.  Being able to swap batteries quickly will be a big difference in competition.  However, I did see that Quantya had a modular battery at a race somewhere, not sure if that was a test or something they are going to change about their bike.

As far as I am concerned, they are all good bikes with great people behind them, the fact that you are going to buy electric is good enough.  The more people we get buying electric the more it solidifies our future in this market.

Oh, and for those in the So Cal area, I got my Zero S on the Carson Daly Show yesterday with my IR Hollywood Electrics.  Airs tonight after Jimmy Kimmel show on NBC.

To answer Skadamo, yes it is simple cosmetic changes.  Here is a horrible pic I just took with the headlight changed to the round one you see online.  It has a few similarities to my Ducati Monster?!  I also took the mirrors off and will replace with bar end mirrors.

Hey everyone - I am here with my two local IR's on a sunday ride at the Ducati of Newport Beach.  I did some funky business to my S.  From left to right; TJ (MR for Southern Region), Harlan (Hollywood Electrics), Russ (EDR).
