Well it's the batteries.
I'm going to go with interstate DCM0035, unless someone knows of something better that will fit the same space

OK, if, it is the battries, and proably is. What are the pros and cons of 36 volts vs 72 volts?
Three 12 volt marine deep cycle vs these 12 v 31 ah batteries in the bike now.

I tried to connect my lap top to the controler but they would not to each other.
The laptop saw new hardware, but the motor controller was not responding.

I'll try again tonight

Here is a likn to what I'm workin on

OK I looked at the batteries. They are 12v 31 AH gel type deep cycle batteries. They are about two years old. All of the connections look clean.
I just downloaded the software to my lap top, but have not had a chance to connect to the controller yet. I hope to do that in a few days.

I have the bike on a lift and straped down. I can give it a little throttle and it will pull against the straps but if I give it a little more throttle the motor starts growling or chattering, then stops pulling, or at least not pulling as hard. I can see the armature and it is sort of bouncing back and forth.

I have a gauge on the handel bars. It reade voltage watts amps amp hrs and a bunch of other stuff. With the key off I get a lower voltage reading than with the key on. off I read 60 some volts and 70 some volts key on. more or less.

Is that the loud click? and I see a green light on the controller.

Tech Help / Ebay project

I bought a partially complete project of Ebay. What the guy told me is not important, I have to deal with what I have.
Here is what it is.
ME 709 motor set up for 72v with an axe series controller.
I have the batteries charged up, but the motor will just barely pull the bike. The motor makes a growling sound. There is one spot in the throttle where the motor does not growl and seems to pull better.
Where do I start?
