Buy Sell Trade / NEEDED: Zero X rear chain guide
« on: September 15, 2012, 11:51:18 PM »
Anyone out there have a rear chain guide for a Zero X /MX?

I have a 2009 bike, but looking at the newest (2012) bikes in the shop, it appears that that part has not changed.

I have been trying to get a new one from Zero through my local dealer, but Zero's customer service is absolutely horrible. It appears that they are just way understaffed. Trying to get replacement parts from them is an absolute nightmare.

If anyone has that chain guide, or any other parts that would fit a 2009 X, I am interested.

Thanks

Ok, thanks. Your list shows Std front rim+spokes. What size is it?

Thank you

Hello, do you still have these items for sale?

I am interested in: 21" front wheel and road legal michelin enduro tyre new

Do you know if this will fit onto a 2009 zero x?  In other words, does it have the downhill mountain bike-type hub and brake rotor?

Thank you

OK Thanks Pennjon.  That's great info.  You describe pretty much what I would be doing with it-mountainous singletrack. It's good to know you can get 1.5-2 hours out of a charge. I guess I'll have to learn how to deal with the downhill freewheeling  behavior.

Thanks again

If there is anyone there reading this post an owner of a 2009 zero x?

I'm curious about your impressions with the bike. I am looking at a used one, and would like to know what the major issues have been with that bike.

Thanks

OK, here is the answer I got from Zero:

Yes the 2010 battery will work on the 2009 bike.
The 2011 battery will work but you might need to order an adaptor, The 2012 battery will not work on the that bike.

Does anyone know if the newer batteries will work on a 2009 X?

I am looking at a used 2009 X, and it would be good to know if the 2012 battery will work with this bike.

Right now Zero's website has the 2010 battery available for sale. Will that work on te 2009 bike?

Thanks

Gadget123,

Congrats on your new bike.

I am really interested in getting one myself, but now I am second guessing it, since your description of the amount of battery life really does not seem that good at all.

You said you only made it 23 miles on a full charge, mostly just riding around on city streets. What do you think your total ride time was? Do you think you got a defective battery?  Zero's web site spec page claims 38 miles city, or 60-120minutes ride time. Do you think you are getting anywhere near that?

Also, Zero's web page claims 75% more battery life for the 2012 version over the 2011. Do you think they gave you an old battery? By the way you described the dealer you bought the bike from, they sound like a bunch of unscrupulous a-holes.

I'm really curious to hear what your impressions are of the bike after you take it on the trail. That is the main reason I want this bike, but I want this one over the MX because I want to be able to ride it from my house to the nearby trails, which are about 7 miles away.

Thanks,
-Jay
