I purposely didn't charge my bike in order to take measurements, and ended up surprised to find the bike died at 17%, leaving me stranded on the side of the road for the first time in 10 years of owning Zero's.   :o

At 20% the bike really started limping, and got slower and slower over the next few miles until at 17% the contactor opened and the SOC dropped to 0%. 

Unfortunately haven't been able to download any logs because the Zero app won't connect, but ZeroSpy told me:
0% SOC, Pack voltage 91.2, Cell voltage 3174/3313

Is this indicative of a bad battery?  Sorry for the lack of data, I've ordered a Kill-A-Watt and will take mileage next time.  Also looking to purchase an OBD/MBB cable or wireless dongle, but they're currently not available on ecmcables.com.

When I was getting a license plate for my first Zero in 2011 it was the first electric vehicle on the island.  They couldn't understand that it was neither gas nor diesel, but finally agreed to put "E" as the engine type.  Best part was engine size... I convinced them that since it doesn't have an engine, that means it's equivalent to 0cc, which is less than 25cc, so it should be registered as moped.  Since then my annual road tax has been $28 instead of the $140 that I was used to paying for a motorcycle.  8)

Only people that caught on was my insurance company... one year upon renewing my 3rd party "moped" policy, I got a call saying "my boss googled your bike, he said it's not a moped" and so my insurance premium went up $20.  lol

Finally able to connect to my bike using ZeroSpy app.  8)

At 100% SOC I'm at 116.2v, and 2mv cell imbalance, seems fine, so... is it normal to have such a limited top speed at lower SOC? (60mph at 25%) 

Trying to see if it's worth investigating further, looking for terminal corrosion. Not sure what else to try.

Is there any way to test battery degradation other than by range loss?

I'm trying to figure out why my 2015 DS12.5 at 25% SOC can only do 60mph.   My battery warranty expires in a few months, and I'm 1200 miles away from a dealer.

I'm experiencing the same lowered-top-speed when my SOC drops.  My 2015 can now only go about 80mph at 75% SOC.

The problem is I'm on a Caribbean island and I'd have to ship my bike to a dealer thousands of miles away, which is basically not an option unless the bike stops working.

Any suggestions how to test the battery capacity using just logs, a voltmeter/ammeter, and maybe some coconuts?

I have a 2015 DS that has an intermittent problem with the electrical system resetting, the bike shuts off as if you quickly turned the ignition key off-and-on, power comes back after 4 or 5 seconds.  It's almost caused me to fall a few times while maneuvering the bike and suddenly losing power, and it's happened while in the middle of an intersection, luckily no cars were coming!

The dealer and zero factory said I need to bring the bike in, but I'm thousands of miles away from a dealer. Is there any way to log in via RS-485 or OBD to see what's going on?

If the givi bar is any more than 1/8" thick then you'd need longer pins. Just add the extra length you need to the grab length... If the rack is less than 1/2" then get a pin with 2.5" grab length.

These $10 pins fit securely but to stop the wobble instead of electrical tape I used 3/4" long sections of heat shrink tube which make them fit great. If you clean up the tail light wiring there's enough space for gloves, goggles, charging cable, etc.

This 7" round headlight is only for the 2010-2011.  If you want to upgrade the 2012 headlight, which I'm assuming uses an H4 bulb, then you can probably use a simple H4 bixenon kit if there's enough clearance behind the bulb.

Clic, it's very easy to install, it takes just a few minutes to open the headlight bucket and plug it in.

Proto, I just took some pictures... off, lowbeam, and highbeam.  The bike is on it's sidestand and handlebars pointed at the streetlamp just for reference.

You'd have been in better shape if you had an LED headlight  ;D
The new reflector-based Truck-Lite only uses 23 watts on lowbeam, and has a really nice beam pattern.

Most LED flasher relays can work if you make a simple wiring harness, but if you want one that's a plug-and-play replacement, search ebay for "CF13JL-02" ...they are less than $8
