What’s really behind "Energica Pte. Ltd."?
For those of us still riding, it’s time to look past the corporate PR and face the reality of how our brand is currently structured. If you’re wondering why communication has gone dark and why parts are nowhere to be found, here is the breakdown of what we’ve uncovered about the "new" Energica.
The Facts:
"Energica Pte. Ltd." was incorporated in Singapore in July 2025 as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to acquire the assets from the Italian insolvency auction. If you look at the registry, the company lists two different addresses in Singapore—International Plaza and High Street Plaza. To anyone familiar with corporate structures, these are clear-cut "virtual office" or "mail-drop" locations. They aren't factories, and they aren't service centers. They exist solely to hold the legal title of the company on paper.
Why this is a red flag for us:
Total Decoupling: The current structure intentionally isolates the intellectual property (patents, brand rights) in a Singaporean "shell" company, while completely detaching it from the day-to-day operations in Modena. This means the people holding the "keys" to the brand have no physical connection to the shop floor where our bikes are built or serviced.
Complete Lack of Transparency: As a Private Limited Company in Singapore, there is zero obligation to disclose who the actual investors are. We are dealing with an anonymous entity. Whether they are long-term enthusiasts or just "vulture" investors waiting to flip the patents, we have no way of knowing.
The "Brain Drain": The recent departure of key personnel, including the CEO and Robert de Munk, confirms that the internal bridge between the Singaporean paper-entity and the Italian operations has collapsed. There is no one left to advocate for the riders.
What does this mean for us?
Don't wait for "official" updates from Singapore. That office is a legal fortress designed to protect assets, not to support owners. We are currently in a state where the brand exists in name, but the operational support has effectively been liquidated.
