How is that any different than the existing TeslaTap mini? It's not like it can convert the DC Power from a Supercharger to the AC required by the SR/S. Is there something special about the SR/S we don't know about?

No, it would not be much different than using the TeslaTap adapter except that waiting for the bypass to operate (up to 30 seconds on Gen II Wall Connectors and Destination Chargers) would be automatic.
When you plug in the Tesla Charging handle you will hear a beep to inform you that it is inserted correctly and then beep again once the bypass circuit has completed its operation and starts passing voltage to the bike.

I am also working on a DC charging system for the ZERO but it is a very large endeavor and still quite a while out.

There are adapters out there from a few companies now.

Personally Id rather have the CCS1 and the 100 dollar adapter.  This way I can use BOTH stations.  If you get just the tesla fixture, then you are pretty much obligated to just his stations.... UNLESS..... you want to buy the 100 dollar converter to use CCS too.

pay peter or pay paul, in the end you'll need a fairly reasonably priced adapter one way or another.  I can not see a charger owner spending a few thousand to put a new cable / system into his stuff out of HIS pockets when he can just tell YOU to pay the few dollars to make it work, if you want to use his rig.

Unfortunately, there is no way to use a CCS1 type charger as they deliver DC voltage rather than AC even if you had a CCS1 connector on your bike. 

Currently there is no way to use DC voltage to charge any ZERO bikes.  I am sure that in the future as DC chargers become more available ZERO will change out the charging system on their bikes so that DC charging will be available as well as the current AC charging system.

This conversion makes it possible to charge from any of the over 40,000 Tesla Mobil connectors, Wall Connectors, and Destination Chargers (even if locked to Tesla Only) without needing any adapters AND still have the ability to use any J-1772 chargers that you may be using now.

I have been making TeslaTap adapters for many years now so you can charge from NACS (Tesla) chargers.

I am also an owner of a ZERO SR/S myself and decided to manufacture a conversion kit with the Tesla bypass system so that it is built in the bike rather than using a TeslaTap adapter.

If you just want to use an adapter, the only US made and approved "TeslaTap ZERO" adapter is available from your local ZERO dealership. All of the other adapters available are manufactured offshore and do not have the TeslaTap bypass circuit.
